Major Art Tillery Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 I for one think he did an awesome Job!
DocWard Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 One whole heckuva lot better than Fergie. One of the better renditions I've heard in a long time.
Cliff Hanger #3720LR Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 When Fergie personalized the national anthem, booo, I wondered how she would react if someone took her songs and personalized them in the same manner.

That wasn't personalizing. That was monster trucking, backing up and doing it again, then spreading gasoline on the carnage and lighting a match.
Cliff Hanger #3720LR Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Doc Ward, That was the best I could do after editing my original comments. I prefer to stay on Miss Allie Mo's good side...;^) (special note: I changed the channel after about 3 seconds)
Randingo Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 He sings great. School of Rock is a good flick if you like his singing.
Tyrel Cody Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 They ought to get him to do the Super Bowl next year, he does a heck of a lot better job than most. 1000 times better than Whitney Houston’s rendition and she was lip syncing
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 I have no use nor anything good to say for Black, but I do have to admit he did a fone job on our National Anthem.
DocWard Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 As a person who used to do my fair share of singing, if you watch close after the high notes at "bursting in air," I think he got just a bit light headed. Seen it happen before with baritones pushing their range. Probably have had that look myself. He handled the ending just fine though.

Fergie's edition was a sh*t show, which she should hang her head over til she's in her 80s.

It was easily observed that he doesn't have the breath training of a pro singer, as his pauses for breath were all long. It was still a real good job.
Chili Ron Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Howdy, I think they should stop rebroadcasting TSSB. Some folks get it right, some try to add their own touch. Some just get it wrong. But then just let it go. What is the advantage to ridicule of all these folks? Maybe before anyone gets to poke fun, they have to sing it Better Than the guy they are poking fun at. THAT would cool some clowns. Best CR

Best CR I typically don't poke fun, but in the case of Fergie, I'd take that challenge.
Four-Eyed Buck,SASS #14795 Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 She might rank right up there with Roseann Barr and Macy Gray with that rendition( If you can even CALL it that)
Rye Miles #13621 Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 He did an okay job, he maybe should have started just a bit lower! Still it was 100% better than Fergie!
Father Kit Cool Gun Garth Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 IMHO actors are good, (sometimes) in doing what they have trained for, which is acting. Our National Anthem should only be sung with the highest of praise. There are more qualified singers (which is what they are trained for), and should be sung only by those who can truly do it justice. Case in point, the following rendition by Jackie Evancho, at 16 years old.
Major Art Tillery Posted February 24, 2018 Author Posted February 24, 2018 I thought Jack Black did very well. Now this version below is my absolute favorite! Some may hate it... But boy I like it!
Reuben McCoy Rankin # 34239 Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 I agree Major, some don't care for Madison Risings version. but its by far my favorite.
DocWard Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 I suppose we all have our favorites, I know I do. Unfortunately, now that photo bucket isn't an option, I'm not sure how to let everyone hear it without downloading it.
Rye Miles #13621 Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 Madison Rising is a pro conservative and pro gun group! I like it!
Seamus McGillicuddy Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Best lines I heard on Fergie’s performance: “ I think I need a cigarette after that.” Charles Barkley ”That would make Colin Kaepernick want to stand up”. Anonymous Seamus
