  2. You got nothing to lose but time. Go for it, they’ll probably send you a coupon for free batteries or may half off new ones!
  3. My intent on using WD40 was to use the aerosol and cleaning properties to blast away any debris or gunk that may be interfering not as a lubricant.
  4. Used my screw knife to assist whenever they would be stuck.
  5. When I work the unloading table at a Plainsman match I keep a small screwdriver handy for shooters to pull off spent caps. They always use it. I hate to see someone's fingertip sliced by a sharp, spent cap.
  6. I remember seeing water dishes for dogs froze over. Ice had to be broken before the dogs could drink. I stayed at home and commuted to the match. It was just another late winter match at Founders Ranch. None of the ladies wore their soiled dove costumes.
  7. Yeah that's it. Some of them things my kids might have played with, but I was grown.
  8. A 1,000 thanks to Big "E" moderator for straitening out my mess. And another 10,000 thanks for all that you people do every day to keep the herd corralled.
  9. From Steampunk to Storm Trooper........cool vids , SDJ.
  10. I have 3 scrap brass that I will send you for cost of shipping. One has a shoulder dent, the other two are not perfect necks. Would work fine for your project.
  11. Today
  12. Almost every day I see someone post phone numbers, email addys, even home addresses. It's amazing really!
  13. The airborne dust cloud raised when transferring dry media from the storage bucket to the tumbler, and then in the media separator, and when separating dry media from brass, and everywhere that dust settled on, was more problematic for me than the dust on the brass itself.
  14. For Sale: Ruger SASS New Vaquero Set with 5.5 inch barrels chambered in .45 Colt I have for sale a really nice set of Ruger SASS New Vaqueros, stainless steel, chambered in .45 Long Colt with 5.5 inch barrels. I bought these new in October of 2012 as backups and have hardly used them since then. Since my main set of Rugers just keep on working just fine, it is time to thin the herd. This set is like new in the box and comes with the original case, locks, springs, etc. I had an action job done by SASS member Will Shootem [Joe Alves] the founder of Pioneer Gun Works in Springfield, OR., in November of 2012. They are not “short stroked” and do not have the “reverse paw”, but they do have very smooth actions. Please view the numerous photos to get a good view of this set. The serial numbers are: SASS 51927 and SASS 51928 Price for the pair with box etc. is: $1695 shipped via USPS (Shipping will be from my FFL dealer to another FFL) Sorry, no sales to California because I do not have a local FFL who will ship there and no sales to Alaska or Hawaii due to cost since this set does not fit in a USPS flat rate box - Smile]. Thank you for looking. Professor Thoreau SASS Life # 2611
  15. I didn't know about Mammatus clouds until now....but I did take pictures of them from my driveway once....
  16. Another thing that I saw on a random check was that some of them somehow sent a message to another member that everyone can read. I saw addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and other personal info also. It's how scammers get their foot in the door and they're good at what they do. There's a couple of layers of protection on this site that people ignore for some reason.... Use PM's, not public messages. Don't post any personal information (Email addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers, etc) that can be viewed publicly anywhere on this site. Pretty damn simple, yet...
  17. Having just spent a half hour poking Lyman grit out of the flash holes of a hopper full of 7mm REM Mag and 7 PRC, not to mention the dust clinging to all my brass that I had to wash off, I am reminded again why I went to wet tumbling.
  18. I went to the airport to meet a friend during a short layover about 14 or 15 years ago. We were going to meet at airside and decide what to do from there, probably an airport bar if I had to guess. It was cool for Florida, so I grabbed a flannel, that I hadn't worn in a year or so, before I left. Got out in the parking garage, the wind was blowing pretty good, so I put on the flannel and went to security to go to airside...oops, there's one piece of .30 carbine brass in my flannel pocket. Didn't get any funner from there. Long story short, missed my friend's short stop, got hassled and ended up being a real pita. I can't even imagine if this happened in another country. Made me more aware. Leaving the country these days, not hardly.

  20. I didn't recognize hardly any.......guess I am too old to have played with most of those. I rode a million miles on a stick horse, shot many bad guys with my cap guns, and sometimes tied a string to a Junebug's leg to lead him around......had a great time on my bicycle pretending it was a motorcycle with the clothespin cardboard "motor".......Oh, the memories....
  21. But, some of us were running around barefoot!
