You are correct - shots 1-10 ARE supposed to be from the rifle.

Shots 11-20 ARE supposed to be from the pistols.

That is absolutely correct and EXACTLY why the shooter earns a Procedural.

But EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE 20 SHOTS are assigned to the same pieces of steel.

They all strike "firearm appropriate targets" - they simply do so in the incorrect order.

However, some time ago I bought from Harbor Freight this item,

https://www.harborfreight.com/shower-valve-socket-wrench-set-96322.html because one end of one of the sockets would fit some die rings that I did not have a wrench for at the time. I noticed today that the 27/32" end of one of the sockets will slide over the 10 gauge brass and put a six sided (not star crimp) taper crimp on the brass case. Nothing severe but just enough MAYBE to hold the projectile. If this turns out not to be the case when I get my order of round balls or begin to cast them, I will have to patch the round balls as has been suggested. C & H tool and die will not have these taper crimp dies any time soon.

Gun order is rifle, pistols, shotgun, but the latter is not important.

Shots 1-10 must be from the rifle, shots 11-20 must be from the pistols.

The shooter shot rounds 1-10 with pistols, and 11-20 with the rifle.

That is 20 misses. A miss for each target hit with the inappropriate firearm and a miss for each target missed.

	Again, from my last post:

Misses are 5-Second penalties. Revolver, rifle, and shotgun targets must be engaged with the appropriate type of firearm. A MISS is defined as the failure to hit the appropriate target type using the appropriate type of firearm.

Each target hit with an incorrect firearm – either intentionally or by mistake.

I fail to see what is confusing about that. With 20 shots, they did not hit the target with the appropriate type of firearm.

WTC Rifle and pistol targets seperation

https://forums.sassnet.com/index.php?/topic/405365-wtc-rifle-and-pistol-targets-seperation/&do=findComment&comment=4924901

@Ciderbarrel When did the shooter shoot at inappropriate targets?

If there had been differing target arrays (one for rifle and one for pistol) - then you could score as you are.

But in the OP; the only targets available are combination rifle and pistol targets.

Meaning they are APPROPRIATE targets for rifle AND pistol.

They do not magically switch depending on the gun in hand.

The targets are appropriate for both type guns - no penalty (other than any earned ACTUAL misses).

The targets were hit in the wrong order (gun order) - assign a Procedural.

Need some help picking out some youth pistols

https://forums.sassnet.com/index.php?/topic/405370-need-some-help-picking-out-some-youth-pistols/&do=findComment&comment=4924900

Another consideration (as things have changed a bit in the last 15-16 years), what about ammo? Do you reload? If you reload then you are golden, read no further. And YES… there are some! 😂

For a few days, T-SQUARE, Scourge of the Old West, is holstering those modern-day Wild Bunch guns and trading gun smoke for a little local culture, history, architecture, and adventure!

Thursday, August 27th is the last day of Wild Bunch, and while the smoke clears, I’m heading to South Bend for a self-guided walking tour and pencil sketching extravaganza at Notre Dame University. Sketchbook in hand, boots on the ground, and hopefully no stampede or outlaws wandering through the quad!

Then it’s off to Goshen for a 2:00 PM tour of the Brinkley RV factory—where I’ll get to see how they build the very kind of wagon I’ve been dragging across the country! 🤠

	Want to join the posse?

If you’re a Cowboy, Cowgirl, Gambler, Soiled Dove, or just a plain ol’ trail hand who’d like to see some of the local sights while we’re in Indiana, send me a DM.

I’ll be happy to share my itinerary and whereabouts, and you’re welcome to join the expedition!

You will have to register on the Brinkley website for the factory tour !!
