Do they eat good and what do you use for bait?:D

Hey, I had to ask.

'Pears to me that you could hold a whole fish fry from just catching one if they are good eating- maybe 2 if they are smaller and you're expecting a good crowd.

So, not good eating.:(

The whole mercury poisoning and the fact that it absorbs jellyfish venom into the meat sorta put the kibosh on the 1-fish fish fry idea.

Pickled beets are more of a spring/Easter thing in our family.

Somebody always sets up a gallon jar of boiled eggs pickled with beets and the beet brine used as a base for pickling the eggs about that time of year.

Starving is preferable to eating any beet products!!

I had one bite, one time, and knew immediately that I would never take another!!

On the subject of pineapple on a hamburger

McDonald's has a filet of fish sandwich. The reason is because back in the long ago time Catholics were not allowed to eat meat on Friday. I believe that rule has been changed.

So McDonald's was looking for a sandwich they could sell to Catholics on Friday.

The fish sandwich was dreamed up by a franchise holder. McDonald's corporate came up with a sandwich that was a slice of pineapple. No meat no fish - pineapple between two pieces of bread.

But they did a taste off. And the fish beat out the pineapple, which is why McDonald's does not sell a pineapple hamburger.

Now you know something new.

I thought lent was right around Easter time. This "can't eat meat on Friday" was year-round. That's why we always had fish on Friday in school when I was a kid. Fish sticks or salmon croquettes. So the Catholic kids could have lunch.

You know, for as many Catholic churches as we have in this town, it's amazing that I only knew three Catholic kids. And only one Jew.

But anyway - fish sticks or salmon croquettes.
