I wonder if the assistant principal went to jail? He had a 45 in his car? On school grounds - the staff parking lot. I'm pretty sure that's against federal law. It's a good thing but, did they arrest him?

I just looked this up. It was a little bit difficult to find because it's not Pearl River Mississippi. Whoever made the meme screwed it a little bit. It's Pearl Mississippi.

Anyway. The punk kid beat his mother to death with a ball bat. Then he stole her Marlin 30-30 and went to school, where he killed two students and shot seven others.

He got three life sentences, for the three murders, and seven sentences of 20 years each, for the seven other people he shot. So he was  sentenced to jail for life three times plus 140 years. He will be eligible for parole when he's 65.

Somehow something seems wrong about that.

Apparently the principal was not arrested for having a gun in his car.

I don't like it either, so followed up your leads.

Mississippi law at the time called for a life sentence for murder with possibility of parole.

The judge sentenced him to consecutive life sentences.

I think he is only eligible for parole on the first sentence at some future date (he will be 65), then he has to serve his second life sentence. And once paroled for that, then finally earn parole for the third life sentence some day in the distant future.

Then there is the additional 140 years for the seven attempted murders.

I suspect even with paroles, he will still rot in prison.

Since the shooting, the Mississippi legislature made murder on school grounds a capital offense.
