MizPete Posted January 31, 2019 Share Posted January 31, 2019 When we were in Beijing in 2006 & 2008 (Baby Girl was still working for Olympic Broadcasting at that point) there was a movement among the Chinese people to recognize cats as companion animals instead of food. And the restaurants near the Olympic venues were asked not to serve dog. Apparently dog is called 'fragrant meat' and sold more as a health thing than a gastronomic delicacy.
