What you want to look for is the compress feature in picture edit software.  When they talk size,  they mean the file size - not the height and width.

I run on a Samsung tablet and had to download an app to crop and reduce the file size.

It's called Photo Compress.  I worked pretty well and easy. Will also let you crop.  This app is for android.  I don't know if they have versions compatible with other systems.

BUT - I couldn't get it to "file save as".  It filled over the picture I was using.   I may not necessarily want to change the original picture.   So I copied pictures I wanted to compres into another album and then worked on the copy.

Thanks San Joaquin Shootist! I was unable to post this photo so I down sized it with paint to 90% vertical and horizontal. It worked perfectly.

This a photo for a wake we had for Jim No Horse when things looked pretty grim. Years later he is still with us and headed to EOT AGAIN! So great to have this guy in our lives.

Maybe we should start having an annual Jim No Horse Memorial Match.  Jim could be the guest of honor every year! :D

Most computers have a little program called "Paint". Right click on the photo and choose "open with" Paint. Then choose "resize" and check "percentage". Usually reducing by 25% works, but you may try different % to get the picture size you need.

This works and as SJS noted its on most PCs.  Just need to guess a bit as to size.  Thanks.
