Just bought a 2010 Pontiac Vibe, I'm gettin 3 months of free Sirius/XM radio. Didn't think I'd like it but man am I gettin hooked!!! All 50's station as well as 60's, 70's, 80's, about 10 C&W stations, Elvis channel, Frank Sinatra Channel, Willie's channel, Soul Town, Bluegrass etc. NO COMMERCIALS on the music channels!!~~ Fox Talk Radio, with Tom Sullivan, John Gibson and a bunch of Fox people. It's pretty cool, $12.95 a month though and I'm pretty cheap....uh....frugal.....not sure I'm gonna pay for it but it's tempting. Anyone have it? :D Rye

I bought a used Ford F-15 with it and didn't know it was there for almost a year. Got to enjoy some of the offerings, others not so much, a matter of individual choice. When the subscription ran out, I let it die. Last month I got an offer in the mail for five or six months for something like $19.95 total. Monthly charges of about $12.95 thereafter. I went for it. Don't know if I will keep it after the trial period, but is sure is nice to hear the Sinatra Channel, the Classic Old-Time Radio (30's to 50's shows) and the Classical stuff I enjoy.

Yep. Got it in both cars: one built-in, one add-on radio. I got our first one several years ago after a cross-country trip with no radio stations around and only 10 CDs. Boy, did I get sick of those CDs.

Wouldn't be without Sirius anymore!

Took a road trip with some pards this time last year. It was interesting at first, but at the end of the trip (2 days of driving each way), I found it repetitive. Wasn't prepared for the commercials as I was expecting it to be commercial free. I wouldn't pay a monthly subscription for it. JMO.

Have had one for about five years. Once you get used to it it kinda spoils ya. Every time I switch back and listen to the 'ol FM for a while it usually only takes me about an hour and I kick the XM back on. It's about the only place to get good news from on the radio around here and the Book Radio is one of my favorites. The Radio Classics channel plays oldies from the 30's to the 60's like The Lone Ranger, Gunsmoke, Dragnet, The Shadow, ect. Lot better selection than FM. Of course, I'm a truck driver and spend all day on the road. Helps keep me awake.

I got it about a year ago. LOVE IT! Didn't think that I would really like it, but I find now that I listen to it 99% of the time. Have my favorite stations and don't venture away much. Don't need to. It's not a necessity, but a great treat that I enjoy every day.

Have one myself...but its not a built in unit. Its an underdash unit, that I can transfer from one truck to another...depending on what we are taking out of town. I very seldom listen to local radio anymore, always listening to satellite radio.

Outlaw country..Willies Place...The Roadhouse...etc

I run with 3000 songs on my I=Pod, I use I-Trips and can take it in multple vehicles (and boats). If I want to add something I just download from I-Tunes. I also listen to Pandora, (through my Phone when I'm moble) I have "built" a number of stations depending onwhat I want to listen too. Pandora is a free service, mulitple Internet radio sites are impamenting mobile apps and have deals with the auto manufacturers. Satellite Radio will go the way of the tube radio

The only regular radio I listen to now is our local station that has Rush on, otherwise it's XM all the way.

Deadwood Slim, the music stations don't have any commercials just the "talk" stations do. Don't know what you were listening to????????????

Howdy Rye. As I recall, the commercials were the variety where they were promoting the program line-up and the benefits of XM radio. Might well have been the talk radio side as the guys I was traveling with liked that stuff.

Satellite is way better than regular radio, but I wasn't impressed enough to want to pay for the service. I'm with Dusty Balz and prefer my iPod.

My 2 cents, nothing more. :FlagAm:

I had XM for a while. I couldn't get but 1 radio station where I lived and I got the personal one (can't remember the name) that came with adapters to use at home, in the car or like a walkman with headphones. I used it at home and on the motorcycle when traveling. I found out that I would loose the signal quite often when riding in the mountians. I moved where I get plenty of stations now, so I let it expire. It was nice while I had it.

Not me, I'm way too cheap. Local I listen to FM on my commute, road trips we typically shop around and find a cheap rental that lately comes with an aux input to plug our many iPods or Zunes into. Not sure I'd trust any of our cars on a long trip.

I do and I love it. I have a serious problem with music that has been butchered to make it PC enough to play on public radio. They not only cut out "bad words" but I have also heard some songs that had sections cutout for being un PC and I can't stand it. I am an adult and "bad words" won't corrupt me any worse than public school did. XM is uncensored and that is good for me.

YMMV

It came with the last two vehicles I've bought, I didn't renew it on either one. Just no big deal.

If I'm alone, I'll listen to my iPod stuff or CD's. If my wife is with me, well, she thinks we should TALK instead of listening to the radio.

Tryed it -

Did'nt see the big deal--

I mostly listen to Rock (Mostly classic rock) 'n the "local" stations give me that- Other stations from goody knows where are redundunt IMO so i figger i'd buy a CD once in awhile instead of the fee :P

I let it expire when the free trial time was over in my new vehicle. It is just not that important to me. Granted, whem I travel in areas that have limited FM service some additional stations would be good but that is not very often. I just had another 2 week free trial and went back to my regular stations before the free trial was over. Your mileage may vary!

I've had it since 07. I have a lifetime subscription for my truck, which is a deal because I'll keep it for about 15 years.....LOL

Had it but will not again. It seems that since I did not cancel in writing and since the card they had on file was stolen and closed and they could not bill me that I got calls from a collection agency for the amount of $34. It took a while and a lot of calling the collection agency over and over again and harassing them and a facebook complaint and a complaint to the CEO's office before they dropped it. RUUUNNNN!!

It was fun up until then.

I've got XM, and I bought an extra mount and antenna so I can switch the receiver back and forth between cars. It sure makes the long commutes a lot more enjoyable.

Came with the 2010 Loaded Dodge 3500 Dually for a year. They have me hooked and the traffic tied into the GPS is probably worth what they charge for the whole deal. Sirus 79 has great christmas music.

I've got it and love it. The trick to the price is to wait until the free trial is up and then call the "800" number that will display on the radio. Haggle with them and you'll get a better price. The best deal is lifetime subscription for one flat fee. I think mine was $300, but that is transferrable to up to three devices, so that means I can use it in my car from now through the next two vehicles I buy (conceivably for about 15-20 years), not a bad price when you look at it that way.
