It seems lately some topics create controversy here. It also seems that individual opinions no longer count if they don't agree with some. 

The Saloon use to be ,"use to be" a place were we could agree and disagree in a friendly discussion. It was unheard of closing or deleting posts at one time unless really bad.

 

So am cutting ties here and wishing those that remember, the Best. I won't be back.

It’s a shame that you can’t have a good conversation and some lively argument without someone stepping over the boundaries of decorum!

Once again! It is EXACTLY  as I stated!  If it’s kept civil and within the bounds of decorum, these threads can go on indefinitely!

Didn't watch the last two videos, so apparently missed something. The pictures of her were eye friendly however! I'm kind of amazed that someone would quit the forum over a post however as no one forces anybody to read them. If ya don't like one, click back, and pick a different topic. As 40 would say, Sheesh!

I also missed those videos, and until Rye chimed in had no idea which thread was being discussed. I understand and appreciate the Moderators job. They've cut me off a few times when I got too political for the thread's good. But I'm certainly not quitting the Saloon over it. This is, after all, almost literally my only social media participation. 

And I agree with Pat, water under the bridge. (Hint for Larson).

Sorry I ever stated that she wasn't a good driver as it started unintended comments and ill feelings for which I'm regretful for, not regretful for the statement though.

 

People are going to have disagreements, even likeminded people. I found, a long time ago, sometimes you gotta know when to put the keyboard away and grow another layer of skin to thicken up the sore spots.

I opened the thread when it was posted and read the first two or three posts. Never went back to it. Never heard of the woman before. Still don't know who she is. Don't really care. So I didn't notice it was gone.

No one told me to ST*U, let alone you.

 

There was a lively conversation between two other people in which one told the other to ST*U. This was at the very end of the 2nd page after the two video's that MDT posted. I don't know if there was bad language in the videos as I rarely turn on the audio with those type videos.

After expressing an opposing opinion a poster came back telling me I was wrong and used the acronym ST*U. I watched the 2 videos and there was hardly any "offensive" language in them.  I think our skin is getting too thin.

I looked at that thread. I made a comment about her getting her start in Go Carts / Racing Carts and left it at that. I looked later and pictures were racier, no pun intended and decided the thread was headed down the tubes and never looked again. 
 

Clarification: not going down the tubes as in degrading but going down the tubes to where a Mod might edit or delete provocative photos. 
 

Deletion or thread locking were inevitable.

I’m going to agree with Pat!  A couple of the participants in that thread were getting a little agitated.

 

Closure was a probability when I last viewed it.

FWIW...there were no "lewd" videos or "overly provocative" photos.

 

Two of the three videos in a post just before the requested deletion contained live radio communications with a continuous stream of expletives that were very poorly covered up.

 

...not to mention the exchange of unnecessary insults (degenerating into "politically-related") between two posters prior to that.

 

Y'all know who you are.
