There are two-different types of 2-Factor ID log-ins.

One is used by banks, brokerages, online pharmacies, etc.  Where you log in and then they send you a message by phone or e-mail. whichever you chose, and you reply to that message.

The other is used by Facebook, G-Mail, Paypal and Amazon.  Where if you are logging in from a location or a device other than your usual one, only then do they require the 2nd-step of the log in.   So, if you are looking at FB from the same location and device, you'd never know it was 2 Factor.   I would bet that this is the type the Wire is going to go to.   Log-in with the 2 step process once, and you'll not have to do it again from that device and location.  But others will not be able to get into your account without you knowing.

In the meantime, your e-mail addresses are hidden by default.  But, many of you have added your email address again to your public profile.  Don't do that!!

We will continue to delete, without notice, private phone numbers and email addresses that folks STILL add in their posts, when we see them.

I was about to say something about having a password that, according to the previously referenced chart, would take well more than 26 trillion years to crack.

I was ready to say something but decided not to.

Y'see, there are EVIL DEMONS OF THE AIR that listen to every word we say, and respond accordingly --

"What's that you say, a picnic? ZAP! Thunderstorms and red ants!"

Maybe I'd best just keep quiet!

Considering the words I bolded in the quote...

I hope so too, one email and enter the code and I am good until the next time my browser gets a software update (because that is a new browser). I must say I am concerned a staff member does not know the details...

As to what follows the bold, I will also continue to report any instance I find of publicly posted contact info, and PM any member when I find such info on the public profiles (and have a number of members who have appreciated the heads-up).

I'll also repeat best practice here. Trade private contact info only by PM on this site (real name, payment method, FFL if needed, addresses). Conduct the sale by PM on this site. Do not share personal email or phone numbers (limited exception for F2F as needed). Do not respond to emails or texts otherwise. If a seller and buyer have not exchanged actual email and phone numbers, there is no way other contact methods are legitimate. And for PMs on this site, there is no reason for any 3rd party to get involved unless agreed by both parties to a sale in advance.

A lot of folks on this forum have a trusting nature, and this site has become a magnet for evil-doers.

I am always willing to inspect anyone's profile for public information, just send me a PM. I will look and respond by PM.

I just wanted to publicly Thank You for looking at my profile and seeing I did have a publicly viewable email address. I honestly couldn’t tell if it was viewable or not. I know it is not now. I deleted it.
Thank you again. I appreciate it very much. :)
