Ed Seiker, Texas Ranger has passed

It is with great sadness that I report the passing of Buddy Spillers aka Ed Seiker, Texas Ranger.  He was a great friend and mentor who also knew a thing or two about cowboy action shooting and dominated Elder Statesman for several years running.  Seems like he had been everywhere, done about everything and knew about everybody.

His service will be this Friday, June 28th at 11:00 at Church of the Good Shepherd in Lake Charles, La.  Visitation 9:00-11:00.

Here's Ed Seiker, Texas Ranger at an Up the Creek Gang match in Lake Charles, LA in February 2017.  I was fortunate to have this great cowboy give me some valuable pointers.  RIP Ed.

One hell of a nice guy and great shooter. Looked forward to seeing him at EOT and WR.  I have alread been missing him for the last few years when he hasn't been at either.  Sorry to hear of his passing.  RIP

This is a sad day!  I was cutting grass this afternoon and was thinking about Buddy and saying to myself that I needed to go see him!  That is a weird feeling knowing that he passed and I may have been thinking about him at that time.  I believe in spirituality!  RIP Buddy Spiller aka Ed Seiker, Texas Ranger!

I knew this news was coming but still sad to accept loss of another dear friend.  Jean Lafitte "Buddy" Spiller aka Ed Seiker, Texas Ranger was not only one of SASS's great competitors and one of the grandest guys you could ever have the pleasure and honor of knowing but also "stand" alone story teller, guitar strumming balladeer, and excellent flint knapper.  An amazing man with so much famous ancestry such as Jean Lafitte and Ed Seiker.

Such a great loss.  God gifted all who knew him.  I am very saddened.. May God comfort family and the many friends.

RIP my friend. image.thumb.jpeg.a49a3cd3075cec2f4588ffdc33135a45.jpeg

we always had an extra steak and cigar for him. I have no idea how many times he told me the story of the skull of Pancho   Villa and I loved it every time. God Bless you Ed, Irish ☘️ Pat
