76 hazy and windy.  I'm just happy to see the buzzards back. Dad always watched for them as they were the first signs of spring.

There is a buzzard roosting site about 6 miles away in Aztec, New Mexico. A stand of very old cottonwood trees standing right on Main Street.

In the spring when the young birds are learning to fly, the sky is filled with circling vultures.

If you didn't know any better, it could be a little alarming.

We have a buzzard and crane roost just up the creek in a bend. Step bluff with tall cottonwood and sycamore at bottom. After hatchling,  the ground is littered with egg shells and downy feathers.
