Doc Hurd #12379 Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 I found these at a gun show today. Each gun has two cylinders and each cylinder is serial numbered for the gun it belongs to. I’ve never seen this before was this something you could special order? Thanks Doc
Warden Callaway Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Lucky dowg! Now see if your lucky holds out to find caps, powder and balls.
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Custom fitting, Ruger wouldn't do it. Good find! OLG
Desert Pete SASS #42168 Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Well before the 5 1/2 ROAs folks marked their cylinders because they are not completely interchangeable. Matching serial numbers is a bit much, but it serves the purpose.
Old Man Graybeard Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Are you going to take a walk on the dark side now Doc??
Doc Hurd #12379 Posted December 12, 2021 Author Posted December 12, 2021 No I'm not selling them at this time, thanks. Greybeard I might stray to the black side.

It’s easy, powder, wad, ball, press, repeat till you got 5 done, cap the loaded ones and you’re ready to shoot.

Doc Hurd #12379 Posted December 12, 2021 Author Posted December 12, 2021 I may want to find a set of lowered hammers if anybody has an extra set

I found and installed these on my ROA and it made a world of difference. They are Ruger grips, maybe off a NMV.
Doc Hurd #12379 Posted December 12, 2021 Author Posted December 12, 2021 Thanks Warden I have some of those and will give it a try. I like the look too!

Hi Sue I will be glad to help you with that, but I need to learn myself first! Doc
Tequila Shooter Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 @Doc Hurd #12379 I’ve got a pair of these checkered ones on my ROAs and really like them, they fit my hand well. Eagle Grips
Parson Remington Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Doc, Very nice. I am jealous. Been missing you at Powder Creek.
Sedalia Dave Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Eagle Gunfighter grips for an Old Model Vaquero will fit perfectly. The thinner panels make reaching the hammer a lot easier.
Frederick Jackson Turner Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Holy Grail stuff, there, cowboy. Good on ya! Cheers, FJT

Wallaby Damned Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 Egads! That’s a nice score there. As to loading, it’s dead simple. powder, ball, grease. Done. Cleaning is even easier once you learn about Ballistol and “moose milk” (ballistol:water mixed 1:10).
