Our house was a little empty after we had to put down our last. My wife was against getting another one. Kaya saw this one at a shelter and I said GO. Now Kaya bought a house. I think my wife is getting a lawyer for a custody case!

Poor Josie tangled with an Armadillo last night.  After some rest and recuperation,  she should be as good as new.

Them dillies are nasty!!  Dalmatians are a family favorite here!

Hope she gets better quickly!

Forgive this Northerner his ignorance, but I had no idea those critters could be dangerous.

Hope your dog gets better soon and learns to give them a wider berth.

Mind you, I've seen some pretty sorry looking after action results from dogs tangling with porcupines!

Again.

And Again.

And Again.

Sometimes more than once the same day!

That's why Porkys are on my endangered species list. I see em, they're in danger.

I have a serial porkie biter and I shoot them on sight as well.  $500 to the vet the last time and I got off easy as he was really a mess.  Big dog big teeth, he may have even badly harmed the critter but I don't want to see that muzzle again.

The armadillo was in HER paddock.  She has every right to defend it, according to her.  When she saw it and barked, it stopped and hissed at her.  She chased it down and it went under the fence to get back out.  I think that's where the damage was incurred.  She tried to get under the fence to get at it and hurt herself.  I understand once it got to the other side of the fence, it turned and hissed at her.  That made her even angrier.  We have to keep a closer eye on creatures that decide to enter that area.

Had never encountered one of these having always lived in northern areas.  Interesting lookup, some relationship to leprosy, rabies and various other diseases.  Worth a look.

Yes.  The vet and vet tech checked her several times for bite marks but couldn't find any.  We are keeping a close eye on her just the same.

From what I read, I think they mostly use claws.  Having been to the vet, usually all is well.  I keep an eye on the boys when they get hurt as well, vet or not.

That reminded me!

Our Bichon did the same thing with the same result!

And he HATED the water!

Talk about a sorrowful fellow till we dried him off!
