Loophole LaRue, SASS #51438 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I'm itching to post some pics of my new Navy pistols, and wouldn't ya know it....can't make it work. (All fixed - scroll down to # 15 - thank you, Hardpan!!) I followed the direction from the prior posts re the IMG link on Photobucket; the IMG box even says "Copied" when I click on it. But when I go to my draft post and right click, and then hit "paste" in the drop down, NOTHING. Am I doing something wrong? Working in Windows 8 if that makes any difference. Gracias. LL
Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Do this, Loophole.... [ img ] paste your picture here [ / img ] with no spaces.... it oughtta work just fine!
Dusty Morningwood Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Do this, Loophole.... [ img ] paste your picture here [ / img ] with no spaces.... it oughtta work just fine! I have the same problem. Are you saying to actually type in the on both ends of the paste?
Birdgun Quail, SASS #63663 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Don't forget to put the / sign in the back [/img] A pic of a Mearns quail I shot in Arizona from photobucket.
Cliff Hanger #3720LR Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 paste your picture here = your image url I know nothing about photobucket. It seems they have buttons to click on to do things. Then I see people complain that they don't work. I just use the url and paste it in between the display img code I type in. [ img ]url of my image[ /img]
Utah Bob #35998 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I have found it won't ork on this tablet cmputer no matter what. I have to use the desk or laptop.
Bama Red Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I'm guessing you're using an iPad, UB, as I seem to have the same trouble, as well as being unable to view embedded You Tube videos.
Jack N. Water Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Try Ctrl C to copy and Ctrl V to paste. Sometimes that works when the other ways do not.
Loophole LaRue, SASS #51438 Posted December 3, 2013 Author Posted December 3, 2013 No luck. LL Try again. LL
Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 LL, delete that space before the http and it'll work...! And they're gorgeous, by the way...!
Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Okay... That's mighty weird... I tried it and it didn't work either - but I can past the URL into a new tab and *Boing!* there they are!
Loophole LaRue, SASS #51438 Posted December 3, 2013 Author Posted December 3, 2013 Hardpan: Wait...you can see it? I can't - on yours nor on mine....all I get is a small square black box with an "x" in the middle..... LL

Loophole LaRue, SASS #51438 Posted December 3, 2013 Author Posted December 3, 2013 Geez... I don't get it; now all I see in your message is an indication from Photobucket that "this person moved or deleted the image"...not so. Gonna have to change my alias to Luddite LaRue. LL
Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Doh...!! This is nuts ~ wild errant electrons...!!!

Abilene Slim SASS 81783 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Try Ctrl C to copy and Ctrl V to paste. Sometimes that works when the other ways do not. Yup, that's what works for me. If I try to use the paste link from the Wire, I get an error message due to my browser security settings. Dang, they're gorgeous!
Noz Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 They are purty!! Be lots better when there's a big cloud of smoke attached to the left end.
Loophole LaRue, SASS #51438 Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 BTTT with photos LL
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Beautiful pistols, but the barrels are too short. I like a gun with some heft to it, like Boss.
Grizzly Dave Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Purdy! I'm not to smart about C&B, what are they? I know cap and ball, but what make and model.
Loophole LaRue, SASS #51438 Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 Grizz 1851 Navy US Marshals by Pietta 4 3/4" barrels .44 cal. LL
Loophole LaRue, SASS #51438 Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 Beautiful pistols, but the barrels are too short. I like a gun with some heft to it, like Boss. BMC: I'd need shorter arms or lower hips in order to clear a longer barrel out of a holster LL
Chickasaw Bill SASS #70001 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 LL pretty critters them short loading levers is gonna be TOUGH to use , got a set of 5 1/2 , 60s , them is tough enough for me CB

Chickasaw Bill SASS #70001 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 LL was I , you , I would head to the nearest auto parts store and get some heavy fuel line to put over them when in use and find the softest pure lead ball you can get CB
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 LL was I , you , I would head to the nearest auto parts store and get some heavy fuel line to put over them when in use and find the softest pure lead ball you can get CB OK, what is the fuel line for? He ain't gonna drive them down range.
Abilene Slim SASS 81783 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Yeah; I'll try them out, but I may be headed for a cylinder reloader. LL I use an 8" piece of household 1/2" copper pipe on my 1860 Army Sheriffs. Provides plenty of leverage without scratching anything. Doesn't really need to be that long, just makes it easy to grip.
Loophole LaRue, SASS #51438 Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 OK, what is the fuel line for? He ain't gonna drive them down range. Of course not!!! For that, I would need a 2 wood....... LL
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Of course not!!! For that, I would need a 2 wood....... LL What is wrong with an 8 iron. No backbone? OK, now I get it. Leverage. If you had 8 inch barrels, like my 1858 Remmy, well, you would not need gas lines. It generates enough sulphur gas on it's own.
J-BAR #18287 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I use a 6" piece of period correct PVC pipe, about 5/8" diameter, from Home Depot as a rammer lever cheater on my short barrel guns. I cleverly disguised it by wrapping leather around it (don't tell anyone!) I figured the PVC would be less likely to ding the revolver if i got careless with it.
