Y’all wanna’ see something really sweet??

IMG_0702.jpeg

Home health nurse was here this morning!!  I still have a bandage on the foot, but now it fits inside a shoe!!

I’m back to the edge of learning to walk again and this’ll make riding the stationary bike a lot easier.

The Crap Shoot at Ponderosa Pines is four weeks from tomorrow!!  That’s my next goal!  It’s actually where this whole ordeal began when I stepped on a nail and picked up an infection that has haunted and harassed me since 2017!!  It even mutated a time or two to keep me from killing it and it’s nearly killed me three different times.

Hopefully, I’ll complete the circle and be able to finally walk away from it!!

I’ve got a busy schedule of stuff to get done today, so I had the home health nurse do the standard wrap bandage for me for the next couple of days.

I’ll be on my feet a good bit today, repairing a stool, putting toe straps on the pedals of my stationary bike, and doing some stuff in the kitchen.

I figure I’ll protect my progress ‘til I see the doc on Wednesday!! The bandages were perfectly clean this morning!!

It’s going to turn cold this week! I had a dusting of snow yesterday morning when the grandson and I went out to the shop. I got some stuff done and pulled up the materials to fix the stool and bike.

Ain’t gonna get much above freezing today and tomorrow and then we’re s’posed to have snow on Wednesday. After that the temperature is going to drop to single digits for a couple of days and the next warm day will be next Monday!!

I like it, but it’s making Schoolmarm a real GRUMP!!

Good to hear things are staying good. It will feel good to get some projects done!

Plowed the storm from yesterday. Only got about 6 inches and some sleep. Half of the predicted. Now need to take the plow off the truck as it's going over a buddies to replace the leaking power steering line. Then back to my room to continue diamond filing my Marlin carrier. It's almost there!

Windy as a bugger, Grumpy. Now just stay the heck off my snow!!

We've had almost 80 Cm in the last couple of storms in the last couple of days.

And it drifted, becoming illusaq type that the s'blower has to labour getting through.

Big Red chopped down the tops of the drifts so the mouth of the 'blower would eat through.

The air intakes for the NG furnace, fireplace and On-Demand hot water heater were either covered or close to it.

Four hours so far and we still have to clear a path on the rear deck to get to the generator to make sure it can drew air, if needed.

Time for a hot coffee and to rest my arthritic knees.

That world famous Military man, General Decrepitude, is visiting today.

There are a few gray areas to this. I won't go into them.

Misty is not under any obligation to publish the information. She is not necessarily prohibited from publishing it verbatim but this introduces other considerations. She is also not bound to secrecy.

As much as I would like to see the full notice myself, Misty has already made public sufficient information to explain the actions being taken.

Also I recognize SASS has no resources for any sort of a legal battle.

i cant see any upside to any sort of litigation to us here , the lawyers will make a bundle and the enemy of our game get to punish us for our preferences , i think misty has done a great job of explaining and handling this ,

glad to see your heling up , hope your back to shooting again soon ,

Blackwater is further behind the curve than I am. Was that for him maybe?

My big challenge right now is temperature, just can't be in cold for hours. And running out of ammo soon, working on that as I have time and warmth. And avoiding unscheduled priorities. But other than that, I need trigger time as soon as possible.

I’ve spent quality time at the reloading bench and made several timely acquisitions while I have been trying to heal up.

I’m not really concerned with being competitive so long as I can get back to being able to move smoothly and safely while completing the course of fire with as few mistakes and misses as possible.  Any speed that develops will be gravy!!

I’m riding my stationary bike and steadily working on movement.  I feel like I’m improving my stamina. The movement is a matter of repetition and hopefully some physical therapy.

IN THE MEANTIME, I AIN’T BEEN SHOOTIN’ AND THAT MAKES ME GRUMPY AS HELL!!! 😡

i also get to reload what i like to shoot to do so ,

I WAS competitive a few decades ago, but those days are no long gone.

I get out to shoot and try my best to shoot a Clean Match, forgetting about the time.

I'm able to shoot at three sorta local venues, including my own, helping "Dawn" develop a "General Store" theme at the Trading Post on my home range, "The Square Circle Wranglers"

Oddly similar to one in MT years ago, but it was CFD, not SASS.

We're still in construction, using Match fees as the bank account permits.

Upcoming projects include completing an A/C Ticket/Telegraph Office for Clangity Jane, an equipment garage for the riding mower, snow blower etc, permanent covered Loading and Unloading tables, more steel and possibly an expansion of the range shooting bays, if present attendance keeps up and increases any more.

The legal Handgun Sale and Transfer Freeze by our current (mis)Government has done little to decrease the illegal use of them by criminals. Once that freeze is lifted, by a new government,  we expect to see an exponential  rise in members, who will then be able to obtain the necessary SAAs

The local shop forgot to order wife's new carry gun.  She stopped in today and they were making the order.  Should be here Thursday.  A Sig P239 Rose, in 9mm.

Indeed!  I picked up a Springfield Ronin EMP.  Holsters are ordered.  I'm digging that no license is required to carry here..

No permit required  here in Tennessee either, but an enhanced permit allows certain extra latitude.  No waiting period either!

We do have a little snow now and then, particularly now! About 2” this morning when I left to go to the doctor.  Which brings me to my daily GRUMP!!

I left at 6:30 this morning for a 7:30 appointment, thirty minutes early because of the precipitation.

I got to the parking lot about 15 minutes early because traffic was so light, and just as I was getting out of the car when I received a text message telling me that they were going to be closed for the day!!

I could have stayed in bed all day!!  JUST GRUMP ALL TA’ HELL AGAIN!!

(not that I really need a reason!) 🤣

I'll likely get the enhanced permit over summer.  Many states honor it.  The local ranges are all outside, and closed until May.

I got the enhanced version back when it was the standard permit and was required to carry.  When Constitutional Carry was passed here, I kept my permit so that I could have the bonafides when I was out of state. As it turned out, the now enhanced permit, allows the holder to carry in a few places where the new law doesn’t cover possession and carry.  It also seems to speed up the approval process when purchasing firearms.

If I’m not scratching a broke backside the next time I renew, (we’re required to renew every eight years) I will pay the extra fee for the lifetime enhaced version and not have to bother with the renewal process again!!

I’m absolutely certain!!  She doesn’t like the cold! Loves to look at the snow, but hates to be out in it!  She abhors traveling in snow and ice and spends most of her time on the road in panic mode!

She’s griping right now about having to go to town with me tomorrow, even though most of the roads are clear and she doesn’t have to drive!!

Me ‘n’ Hatfield tease her about it! She used to drive a truck on a route in the snow and even rode her motorcycle to and from school when it snowed.  She wouldn’t go out if it was icy, but she is actually quite competent behind the wheel in winter conditions!

GO FIGURE!!

Left the house just after 7:00 this morning. Had a makeup appointment with the foot doctor and then stopped for a nice sit down breakfast with Schoolmarm.  Called in and had some prescriptions made ready for me at the pharmacy, and by the time breakfast was finished they called to tell me they were ready.

We picked ‘em up and the next stop was the liquor store for Schoolmarm some wine.

Next stop was the Post Office!  I had to mail a letter, grab some packing tape, seal up a box of stuff for Forty Rod, and another for a new shooter that needed a shotgun shell belt and then get those mailed off too.

Then to the bank for some cash to pay for some laser ingraving on my new ‘92 stocks, and then out to the studio to pick them up!

Add in a stop for gas and you have eight stops and over a hundred miles.

We got home just after noon!! I took a short nap and then put the carbine back together. Now it’s almost time for supper and some of that banana pudding I made earlier this week!!

Doc says I SHOULD be walking full time in a couple of weeks. For now, she says to take it slow and easy.

I got a lot done! Don’t reckon I can GRUMP too much today!  🙄IMG_0709.thumb.jpeg.e0040f758294868c26e76c14a742c0d9.jpeg
