What is the current "cool kid's" term for marijuana?

They had an NCIS episode where Abby is talking to Gibbs about marijuana. And he says, "Grass?"

 

And she laughs. "Yes Gibbs, grass."

 

To me it appeared that she was laughing at his outdated term.

 

I'm playing one of those "first words in your head" games on another board, and the word given was pot. I immediately replied "reefer".

 

I never called it grass. It was either pot or reefer or occasionally marijiwanna weed.

 

I know that the terms for drugs change over time. I would be quite surprised to find out that heroin was still called horse. I am really amazed that cocaine is still Coke, although I bet it is not still blow.

 

But what do they call marijuana?

I'm sure I'm not current, but have heard new terms in the last few years. It comes mostly from overhearing folks at car events. "Nugs," "nuggets," and "flowers" for the intact grown parts. Also rolled up in special papers with a cardboard-reinforced tip and getting wider at the fire end is a "blunt" or "pre-roll."

 

Also talk of delta-8, delta-9, and THC-A. One of  them (-8 or -9) is the federally and state banned illegal product which will cost gun rights due to use or addiction; the other is probably just waiting for legislation to catch up (if it has not already done so) and is also associated with mental episodes. The -A is now illegal under Tennessee law. I did look that up and it is an acidic form of the active ingredient (8?, 9? I don't know). Not sure where the Fed stands on it, but Tennessee said "no way" on -A recently. Anyway, I have heard those variants referred to by the number or letter.

 

Then there are oils and extracts for vaping, which seem to cause severe lung infections; this combined with if it is 8, 9, or A.

 

Wonder if the script writers are even this in tune with the current lingo.

Blunt I heard of, but that was more than 20 years ago. They'd take a small cigar and slice it open and take some of the tobacco out and replace the missing tobacco with marijuana. Then smoke the cigar.

 

Bud has been around since at least the 70s. Nice to know some things don't change.

Smoke and Skunk are terms I hear lately

Kids {using a bad word LIBERALly here} smoking weed, smoke, skunk, blunt etc. I can deal with if they call us cause their puking due to hyper emesis from what they have been smoking.... It's the kids again (LIBERALly used again) that love their BLUES and what's been coming down the pipeline is either stronger synthetic or a mix of stuff.  PD 'hits' em with 4mg Naloxone and it does not work, we have 10mg Naloxone and have used most of it to get someone's heart/lung function to return - i think the most I heard was 12mg before there was any response to the Naloxone.  Heard of one frequent user that they were trying to cut back on BLUES down from daily 35-40+ to 20-25 now... at least its a start.

I have a cousin who was really bright until he smoked pot laced with angel dust. It really screwed him up.

 Dank, skunk.  Fentanyl contamination is a great reason to decriminalize and let people grow their own. That way they know exactly what's in it.
