Joe Pickett

I have read a number of the Joe Pickett series... enjoyable, all.

This new TV series is pretty good. Not stellar, but pretty well done.

I'm into the 2nd season. Good story, I think the writers might have combined 2 books for this. I hope they do a 3rd season.

Yes, it’s a combination of “Blood Trail” & “Nowhere to Run.”

Anyone watch Joe Pickett?

Saw the first episode last night, thought it was pretty OK.

Yes, it is a good series to watch. At least I liked it.

I too have read and enjoyed all the books....but I am not paying for  any any computer downloads for movies. I live rural and my download speed is way to slow. I get lots of breaks so the computer can catchup.

Read all, watched all. I don't remember Nate being being black???? I don't remember Joe being such a wimp.

I haven’t read any of the books but sometimes “Joe” in the series really ticks me off when he doesn’t stand up for himself. He also needs to remember “reload!”.

Joe’s A LOT more capable in the novels.

Watched a few more, still enjoying it.

Two major annoyances are his pea rifle and his hat!

In the books he can’t hit anything with a pistol and is a consummate “wing shot” with a shotgun. He doesn’t carry a rifle. He keeps a Remington Wingmaster, supposedly from his younger days, behind the drivers seat. The pistol is required by ‘Department Regulations’ and he barley qualifies during yearly re-qualifications.
Don’t know about the hat. Uniform hats are not always a personal choice.

I’ve read most of the Joe Pickett books. I guess I like them. Or I’m just bored with TV in general. I did watch the first season of the show. Not paying a premium to watch the second season.

I have seen all of season one and up to episode 5 of season 2.
He still wears that “Open Road” hat, which I call “the old timey con man hat” and he still carries his gun in a holster where the barrel sticks out. That’s an annoyance to me. (Yes, I know lots of people do it. It’s my pet peeve and I am sticking to it) Sounds like a bad rap song….

Without giving up anything in the plot I will say that Iin season 2 he’s not such a wimp, but still could use just a bit more machismo. I like the fact that the show is more realistic in regards to the main characters and the goings on of the story.
