Micky was offered the role of the Fonz on Happy Days - but when screen testing with the rest of the cast; lost the job because of his height. Apparently his 6 ft height contrasted poorly against the 5' 9" Ron Howard and 5' 6" Tom Bosley. The much shorter Henry Winkler did not draw attention to the stature of the rest of the cast. Nesmith had been in poor health for some time, but seemed to flourish during the tour. He was responsible for innovations in the entertainment industry like the format for the original MTV and other production advances, a great song writer, and true professional on stage!
