The earlier models like the No3 hand the barrel mounted rear sight. The No3 was used in WWI in huge numbers and was used by the Commonwealth forces in WWII. The Indians made lots and lots of them in Ishpore (and kept with them even after they went to 7.62x51). 1 Quote
