I had a dumbarse at work complaining about someone in his neighborhood flying the Confederate flag. He was showing a photo around to the guys then showed me. He is, shall we say, an inner city urbanite. The flag he was all lathered up over was the flag of Great Britain. 
I looked him dead in the eye and said “You are an idiot! That’s the British flag!”

This moron actually tried to argue with me. I whipped out my phone hit DDG and used the mike to say. “Flag of Great Britain”. I then showed him the results. He just stood there mouth breathing, which is what he’s best at. 
I then told him to go to work...something he’s not very good at...

 

God, I despise stupidity.

We had a business here that few the American flag, the Texas state flag, and the Confederate flag...but not the stars and bars battle flag, that everyone seems to recognize, but the other, official, Confederate flag.  He told me many folks just thought it was an early version of the American flag, from the time when there were fewer states. We laughed about that, and shook our heads at how ignorant the public-school-educated people were getting these days.

Then I read about the Danish flag being mistaken for a Confederate battle flag, and that was even worse.

I need to be in real estate.  I got some Gulf of Mexico beach-front property for sale in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska, that I could sell.

i never understood getting offended by a flag , it made no sense to me , but now i get it better - its not the flag , they dont even know what that looks like , its the idea that anyone might look successful that offends them , 

 

FWIW the nazi flags and symbols dont offend me , it was the national socialist behavior of the nazis that offends me , and now that our left has adopted all the same behaviors and thinking , they offend me
