Birdgun Quail, SASS #63663 Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 During these unusual days ahead, what books can you recommend? I like reading off of my Kindle and there's no problem downloading Kindle books. So, I'm looking for some good reads. My recommendation: "Spearhead" by Alan Makos https://www.amazon.com/Spearhead-American-Gunner-Enemy-Collision/dp/0804176728

Major Crimes Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 Try Terry Pratchett Its fantasy but in a comic world with very poignant insights. Guards Guards is a good starting point https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guards!_Guards!

Found an original copy in my house and have been reading it. Dated yes, still a good book. From one the characters: Baby can you dig your man. He's a righteous man.

Sedalia Dave Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 Terry Brooks' Sword of Sharanna series. Here is the chronological order Stephen King's The Dark Tower Series. Note you have to read in order starting with The Last Gunfighter. The Last Gunfighter is not his best work but it is key to understanding the main characters in the series. For short westerns believe it or not L. Ron Hubbard wrote some pretty good ones.
