and don't forget the years spent playing violent video games where you yank out your opponents spine or sneak up behind them to shoot them in the back of the head are totally harmless, but let them look at an advertisement to go to a range with dad or granddad, learn how to shoot trap and possibly become a hunter or heaven forbid they develop skills to shoot bullseye in 4 H or similar organizations and clearly they will immediately become a cold blooded murderer with extraordinary sniper skills looking to put their playmates in the dirt!

I read a couple of his books years ago. He said one of the effective ways to desensitize a soldier to killing is violent video games. He’s studied violence his entire career, unfortunately not enough people seem to listen to him. I think being in the military and studying how to desensitize people to violence and then reintegrate them back into a peaceful society has given him a unique perspective. But like many people who really seem to have a handle on the cause and effect of things he’s largely ignored.
