a little more detail would be helpfull.  What is not going all the way down?  What gauge is the press?  is it new to you or brand new from the store?  More details please.

12 g....had for a number of years but not a lot of use. When the stations are full the handle will not go all the way down..it appears to jam up on station one..weirdly if you are just starting to load & put the first hull in station one it will work, deprimes & sizes ok..just happens once all  the stations are full..was thinking maybe the adjustment on the wad..not sure so that's why I'm asking !This is for DTL loads..use the Jnr for Cowboy.

Try running just one hull all the way thru the stations and see which one it hangs up on.

If you are crushing hull rims on station 1 when the press is full of hulls at the different stations then you wad guide is probably to low on the shaft at station 3.  Try raising the wad guide a little this will allow the lifter in the collet to drop down further.  And prevent the shell rim from being crushed.

If you haven't cleaned the collet in a while you probably should.  Look for shot that has been mashed flat. Can be hard to see as it will be as thin as a sheet of paper.

When you relubing use a good Anti-seize / lubricant. I have been using the copper colored one by Permatex

Google is your friend.

When you google mec 9000 problems, one of the sites that will come up is "shotgun world"

That's the site I go to, many of the post have pictures to go along with written instructions from fellow 9000 owners.

I have not found a problem yet that hasn't already been covered on that site.

If you Google MEC 9000 Collett, there are YouTube videos on how to take it all apart, polish it up, and make it smoother and more reliable. Good luck!

Also once you get the collet put back in the best grease for it is "rock n roll super web grease".  You can get it at the bicycle store or on Amazon.com.

1.  Make sure the wad guide is in the correct position.  If not, postion one will appear to bind, when in reality, it is position 3 binding.  2.  Make sure the fork is engaged correctly with the lifter, that raises the shell in position 1.  3.  Make sure you don't have shot jammed down in th eresizing die in position 1.

Just solved this problem, with help from MEC.

With no primers, powder or shot in the loader,

First hull in #1, pull handle, if no problem, plate advances hull to #2,

Second hull in #1, pull handle, if no problem, plate advances hulls to #2 and #3.

Third hull in #1, pull handle

If handle will not complete down stroke, plate will advance hulls to #2, #3, and #4.

Remove hull from #4, no hull in #1.

Pull handle, if full stroke, the wad guide is too low.

With hull in #3, adjust wad guide height so 1/8” of guide fingers are inside hull with handle full down.

This fix is not mentioned in Operating Manual.

Thanks MEC,

Amarillo Rattler

once in a while, the spent primers that are collecting below, will block the downward movement too,,,

I have a new to me 9000G and had the same problem, not all the time, but once or twice every 25 rounds, then it got worse. Like Cheyenne Culpepper said I found the spent primer tube would back up and keep the deprimer pin from going all the way down. I thought that fixed, but no joy. I found that if I took the hull out of the deprimer and sizer station and manually deprimed it and put it back it worked every time. Further investigation showed the deprimer pin was slightly bent. I removed it from the press and "adjusted" it with a ball peen hammer and it works great now.
