McCandless
well new to me... "In A Valley of Violence" (2016) It hits just about every western cliche, but Ethan Hawke and John Travolta look like that had fun doin' it, just chewin' up the screen. It has the feel of a Spaghetti Western. Interesting assortment of guns, just a few Colt Peacemakers, not a single '92 or '94 in sight! Good to see that we've had a long string of Westerns the past couple of years. Keep 'em comin'! https://youtu.be/nFD4f1_eZno https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/in_a_valley_of_violence/ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3608930/ Edited January 2, 2017 by McCandless

I suppose "mew would mean 2016, but "new to me" could be any of them. Edited January 2, 2017 by Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984

J-BAR #18287
I liked it. Rented it after reading the above; worth the rental fee, but not big screen admission. Really funny in some spots, too!

With digital movies now, that would have to be a photo editing effect.

Free Bird 61147
Saw it the other night, Netfix. Liked it. Ethan Hawke was great. "Dog do any tricks". "He bites". Loved that.
Dantankerous
Just watched it. Not bad. A little bit spaghetti western, a little John Wick. The dog's blanket trick was great. Not very often do you see a McLellan saddle in a movie, even less it being mentioned in the dialogue.

El Hombre Sin Nombre
Just watched it. Not bad. A little bit spaghetti western, a little John Wick. The dog's blanket trick was great. Not very often do you see a McLellan saddle in a movie, even less it being mentioned in the dialogue. Or a springfield trapdoor, and mentioned. The one problem I had with the movie was trying to figure out what the economy of the town was. There were around 8 people living there, one being the sheriff and 4 being his son and posse. Who pays their salaries? If local taxes, then where does that money come from? Sorry, but I am part economist so it's a tough detail to overlook. Otherwise a fun movie. Wolfgang, SASS #53480
The dog is just GREAT ! I'm about half way thru it now. Fun movie. McClelland Saddle and trapdoor carbine are neat to see included in a film.
Wolfgang, SASS #53480
Ok . . .watch it to the end. Fun . . a bit wild and crazy . . . . the story line gets a bit "HollyWierd" . . . but all around a good fun to watch western. The dog should get an Oscar !
