Rye Miles #13621 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 I've been hearing all this terrible news about flooding, mudslides etc. Is everybody OKAY???
Subdeacon Joe Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 I'm fine. Maybe a little demented, but otherwise, fine.
Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Hi Rye, We are fine too. We live on a hill. Regards, Allie

Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Nope, the top of the hill is flat.
Cat Brules Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 We've be in draught for years here, so rain can cut both ways, with a lot of the soil-holding vegetation having died off and incrementally less coming back each draught year, AND wells going dry for many. Getting all the rain at once can be devastating, and only a few minor rain storms each year is the problem, but if we get a good rainy season, to replenish groundwater and reservoirs, that will take a lot of pressure off. Okay here so far. Power outages have been a lesser problem, too.
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 No issues-very wet(for the desert)with more rain come'n. OLG
Dorado Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 I didn't hear anything about it. Did Kalifornia finally fall off into the ocean??? Did our pards make it out alright?

Mud Marine,SASS#54686 Life Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 If California fell into the ocean, it would be disastrous. They might move here! My late mother once had a beach house on stilts in Malibu. Periodically, her highway would be blocked when houses would slide down onto it! She needed to keep plenty of food on hand! :-)
Yul Lose Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 I was in Vegas for my 60th birthday bash and missed it all. We got home this afternoon and everything looks okay.

Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 My friend from Glendora says part of the town has been evacuated because of mudslides. Glendora is quite a bit inland. She sold her mom's house a year ago.
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 I'm fine. Maybe a little demented, but otherwise, fine. Come on, Joe, you're a big demented. Hold your head up proudly.
Curley Cole, SASS #56849 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 my head is still above water, but I am standing on my toes curley
Rye Miles #13621 Posted December 16, 2014 Author Posted December 16, 2014 Guess there's some truth to this song after all!
Calamity Kris Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Hopen' y'all come out OK. Keeping you in my prayers.
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 my head is still above water, but I am standing on my toes curley But, Curley, that's just you. Most folks aren't in over their knees. Always behave like a duck: remain calm and unruffled on the surface, but paddle like hell underneath.
Mad Dog Jack, SASS #77862 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 I can see the Salinas River, some, from my place, but if my place floods it would be of, well, Biblical proportions. Nice to finally see green pastures. Was pretty windy, some damage at PRVC, one of the local cowboy clubs
