I have been watching some old 30's. 40's and 50's movies and some of the scenes are very smart and very suggestive.

Which ones from that era are your favorites? :-p :-)

Oh, without a doubt, Maureen O'Sullivan in 1934's "Tarzan and his Mate!"

And yes, she really DOES lose the dress. ;)

(I took a couple of film classes in college ^_^ )

I don't remember the movie or the date but Ann Margaret being used as a paint brush on a big canvas on the floor.

Hedy Kiesler, "Ecstasy" (Czech: Extase, German: Ekstase)

And she had brains, too! ;)

I'm with Utah Bob in post #2. Stirring!

I loved Stewart's rant. He knew he was done, just needed a moment to accept it.

Perfectly played by both of them.

There are a couple Humphrey Bogart films that have provocative scenes:

In The Big Sleep, Bogart is keeping an eye on a book shop. He ducks into another book shop across the street, where the attendant, Dorathy Malone, and Bogart exchange some words on a rainy afternoon.

Another.Bogart film, To Have and Have Not, has Bogart exchanging words with Lauren Bacall: "You know how to whistle, don't you, Steve? You just put your lips together and blow!"

There are many more in those old films; mostly before our time. Today's films don't leave much to the imagination.

OK How about "and God Created Woman", with Brigette Bardot

I know that the post says, "pre 1960s", but just a year later, a film considered the worst movie sci-fi movie ever made, even worst then "Plan 9 from Outer Space", is the "Beast of Yucca Flats". It starts out with a nude scene murder. When released there were 2 copies available with/without the topless scene. Many theatres didn't know or received the wrong version. When shown on TV the movie is shown without. The movie was so bad, there was never an outcry on the topless scene were seen, it also had nothing to do with the movie. MT
