Shamrock Sadie

Recommended Posts

Well the SE Regional is over now and we want to congratulate the winners ... Top Cowgirl: Sixgun Sallie and Top Cowboy: Red River Ray.

Congratulations to the Top Gun shootoff winners as well: Island Girl and Santa Fe River Stan.

Many thanks to all of the volunteers (those on the committee and to those in the background), especially the folks who lent a hand at the last minute. The match couldn't have happened without such great volunteers!

We are hoping to post the scores tonight; keep checking the wire. I will post the category winners on the wire later this afternoon....have to get home first.

Sadie and the rest of the crew:

Well Done!!

It is often the case where folks are quick to complain but slow to say "Great Job". Well, the SER was a hugh sucess this year. Much improved stages, stright forward, heads-up shooting. No "P" traps, no dang "bonus" targets and no head games. If you didn't shoot this match well, it's because you didn't shoot well period.

Hats off to the whole team that put this match on.

Dang It Dan

P.S. - The food was pretty dang good this year as well.

New concrete loading an unloading pads that are fully roofed, permanent fronts with extended full roofs. New walking friendly gravel that had been packed on tha entire shooting bay road. 10 full bays in a row close to tha parking an tha best weather tha Good Lord coulda sent! Thats what awaited every shooter that made tha trip to tha SE Regional at Givhans Ferry 2012. Targets were very hitable, close and large with straight forward stages and plenty of movement. No reason this match doesn't draw 500 shooters! What a great group that put it on. My hats off to each an everyone of you. Saw my old friends an met some new ones. My Friend Splinter Houser received tha Isom Dart award for outstanding service to CAS an living tha cowboy way, Love ye ole man! I cant wait till next year as I know it will be even better. Congrats to ALL WHO SHOT THA MATCH! Winning is a very small part of a great match

What a great Honor to all tha vets past an present! Not many dry eyes under tha big tent as tha bagpipe played Amazing Grace not taps, I was thinking of a family member as I typed this. God bless them all. :FlagAm:

Thanks to all for allowing me an mine to have a great weekend with you.

Scores are up!!!!!

http://givhansferry.homestead.com/scores1.html

I put the Main Match Overall results in a PDF form and as an Excel spreadsheet. For those that like to do the "should've, could've, would'ves", you can do all of your analysis in the Excel spreadsheet (can sort how you want: total time, etc.).

Thanks to Marauder for updating our website!

+1 to what Ray wrote......The Cracker Crew had an AWESOME trip. We may have not shot the match very well (there were some moments of brillance but they were few and far between until we reached the shootoff) but I can't put into words how much this weekend means to me. Getting to spend time with my family and friends was great. Making new friends was great as well. Seeing a table of 20 or so cowboys and cowgirls having supper Friday night at Gilligans and having a flat out BALL was great. Watching my little babies have fun with the cowboys/girls Saturday night was great. Sitting around the hotel lobby swapping "war" stories each evening was great. Hearing about the wonderful time my wife and babies had sight seeing around the area was great. Seeing my oldest "baby", Dominator, win the young gun shootoff was great. Going head to head in the finals of the shootoff with one of best pards, Delta Glen, was great.....so was edging HIM out this time. I will carry all the smiles and laughter from this weekend with me forever and their shine will last much longer than any buckle may......the buckle does make great icing on the cake though.....huh Ray. :D

Congrats to Red River Ray and Sixgun Sallie for their Match and Regional wins!!!!!!

I've never seen a grown man get so excited about a mason jar of water and mud....Ray......glad you liked it buddy! Told you I had "something" for you this year.....Haha.

To all the volunteers.....THANKS for giving me the opportunity to make these memories that I will cherish forever. You hard work will always be appreciated by the Cracker Crew!

Stan aka Santa Fe River Stu.....thanks to Whiskey Mac ;)

PS If you didn't go this year.....you might want to consider next year.......Think of all the memories that are there waiting for you.

A big hats off to RRR and Sally! I saw both of these fine folks the day before the match started and both already had their game faces on looking ready to rock and roll.

Harris, didn't know you too were in the USAF ... wasn't too many of us there but the Vet ceremony was very touching (especially as all of us there were thinking of fallen comrades and/or loved ones). Hey ... say "hey" to 3-cut for me, I missed seeing him. The big picture is a lot more than doing well at a match. I sured enjoyed seeing all my NC & many GA/TN/FL friends and neighbors. Ali & I had a great time at the match too. Thanks to the hosts along with all the hard work that comes with it!

I appreciate the kind words from my buds (but it is more like a "blind hog" thing)... hahaha!

Your Rock, Ray! The RRR should stand for Rockin' River Ray. We changed Sante Fe's name this weekend, so we can do that to you too.

A sincere salute of appreciation and commendation to the SER Crew and voluteers!

They did their homework, listened to the shooters from past years, made great improvements, went the extra mile and provided everyone a truly enjoyable weekend of CAS.

My one caution to the SER Crew....you better plan on how you'll handle the flood of applications next year as the word spreads about this year! ;)

Again, thanks to all who had a hand in making this match what it was...ya dun real good soldiers!

I also want to thank the gang on the Stealth Posse  . They made my job as PM so easy as to make that position virtually unnecessary. They worked hard, transitioned from worker to shooter seamlessly, played hard and created an atmosphere of fantastic fun for all. A big salute to everyone on Posse 9.

I think everybody covered it well

1st off which is important to me is that the stages were fun, good variety, target size & distance was perfect no P traps !

I was not going to go to the Saturday Nite Banquet but I'm glad I did, food was very good& a good time with pards.Although the Low Country boil a couple of years ago was just incredible maybe think about that in future. The Range food was also good.

Congratulations to RR Ray and Six Gun Sallie & all the Winners !

I was able to watch Ray put together one heck of a match fast & clean thats hard to beat.

Congratulations to Santa Fe River Stu & Island Girl for Shoot Off wins and ;) Delta Glenn for knocking me out !

Count me in for next year ! AO

:D PS I had a great time shooting with the North Carolina Posse ,I would posse with these cowboys & cowgirls anytime !

Red River Ray and myself had a ball at the SER. I couldnt ask for more hospitality and what a great bunch of people. Thanks to everyone for putting the time and effort into making this year yet another hit. I will have to offer a sincere "thank you" to the group that decided on where to have the banquet. I can honestly say that was the best food I have ever had at any banquet. It was awesome! I also thought that having a young gun shoot off was special too - dont think I have ever seen that before this past weekend. They are the future of our sport, so we need to get them ready for shoot offs - correct? Dry camping arrangements are great - so please reserve the same spot for RRR and myself for next year.

These folks do a fine job at honoring our Veterans. It is not only very touching, but will bring tears to your eyes. For two years now, I seem to locate Shamrock Sadie and see her getting very emotional and that is all it takes for me. Keep up the good work Sadie, you and Knot Hardly Dunn(sp) have done excellent with this tribute.

Congratulations to my hunny  and Sixgun Sallie on their OA win. Congratulations to all the winners, and to all the shooters - I saw people smiling all weekend long. In the words of my hunny, ye dun good!!!

See you all next year!

Teresa

Hawkeye Gin and I want to add our thanks to the folks that put on this match. In addition to a top-notch shooting match, the treatment of the shooters was excellent.

From the greeting at the range entrance, to the sign-in, to the Berm Marshals, to the banquet, to the awards, to the shoot-off Gin and I felt the full effect of true Southern Hospitality.

I don't know all the volunteers that generated this feeling, but our hats are off to each and every one of you.

And a special thanks to Shamrock Sadie for her hard work and attention to details.

We look forward to next year already!

Hawkeye Gin
