One of my favorite sidekicks if you can call him that is Terry Wilson as Bill Hawks, scout, of Wagon Train. Originally a stuntman, he played in many John Wayne pictures. Enjoyed his part in the series and the banter between him and Charlie Wooster, and Major Adams. MT

Either way works for me. I guess I agree, the stereo typical always there side kick character doesn't do alot for me, but the lesser supporting roles add alot to a story.

Festus Hagan was great.

Are you thinking of the right guy? Victor McLaglen has been dead for over 50 years.

Ooops. Perhaps that was Andrew McLaglen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_McLaglen That article says he lives in Friday Harbor and directs the theatre there. That's where we met him, in the play house when we went to watch "To Kill a Mockingbird." We talked before the play.

Sorry. Not victor.

No need to apologize, it was an honest mistake and I wasn't trying to be Mr. Gotcha. Andrew is Victor's son, according to your link, and a successful director. I didn't know either of those facts.
