J-BAR #18287
Pizza and hamburgers can have too much stuff on them. Pizza: cheese, pepperoni, sausage is sufficient. Hamburgers: cheese, mustard, onion, jalapeños. Keep the garden in the garden. Mayo and lettuce suck. Like most things, I lean Libertarian on this. Is it my favorite? Not even close Is it the worst topping? No, that would be mushrooms, black olives, and anchovies. There is only one clear choice Pizza- Meat Lovers Oh yeah, Burgers- Bacon, lettuce, mayo and pickles

Blackwater 53393
70% beef patty with chorizo, chopped mushrooms, and chopped onion, grilled hot and flipped only once!! Hard onion roll, lightly oven toasted with a smear of butter. Hot kosher dill pickle, sliced salted tomato, American and pepper jack cheese, (placed on the patty one minute before it comes off the grill) and a liberal shmear of Dukes mayo on the bottom half of the bun. Perhaps some sport peppers and seasoned steak fries on the side!! Some pink in the middle and dripping juices everywhere!! DAT’S A BOIGAH!!
Rip Snorter
In point of fact, I suspect it is where / when you grew up. Italian / American - tastes of home. I can recall the very attractive girlfriend of one of the guys in our college group. She was tough and required Anchovies on pizza. There and then, they put them under the cheese and sauce, like land mines with no mine detector. She might have survived pineapple, though most wouldn't have cared for it. But hot Italian sausage is practically a requirement!! I had a pizza with little spicy meatballs and a peppery cheese blend yesterday! Good stuff! It had a light smear of marinara as a base and a very crispy crust!

Pat Riot
My stance on pineapple on anything has not changed. It’s good on other strange and possibly psychotic people’s food. Cauliflower pizza crust? Blackwater 53393
Pineapple is for fruit cups and upside down cake!! I like sliced pineapple rings, (very cold) and the juice is pretty good in vodka!

Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
One Sunday in ‘66, guys in my squad introduced me to my first pizza, in Ülm, Germany. The restaurant was Portofino. Visited there a few times. Later as a civilian, I went into a Pizzeria in the states. I ordered a pizza with everything. They asked “with or without?” I asked “with or without what?”…..”Anchovies” I chose with, thereafter I chose without. 2

Subdeacon Joe
It always amazes me how worked up people get about what others want to eat. Pizza with BBQ sauce, burnt ends, and topped with coleslaw? Fine, I'll give it a go. Might not order it, but I'll give it a try if offered. With olives, capers, and anchovies? Fine. Tofu and bean sprouts? No thanks, but if it floats you boat, go for it. Ditto for burgers or hotdogs. The thought of the "Chicago Dog" kind of makes me nauseous, but if that's your choice, go for it. I like mustard and sauerkraut. Or maybe a chili-cheese dog with 'kraut. Or horseradish mayo. Heck, sometimes just mustard and catsup, depends on my mood.

Pat Riot
19 minutes ago, Subdeacon Joe said: It always amazes me how worked up people get about what others want to eat. I think it’s reaction to an individual’s experience. I will definitely say when I don’t like something, but I don’t lose my mind if someone else eats it. I will joke about it though. There are people in this world that do go way beyond reason when voicing their opinions about food and what other people eat.

Blackwater 53393
I eat things that I like. I politely refuse to eat anything that I don’t like, mostly! I regularly joke about eating certain things, whether they’re offered to me or not! I get a kick, sometimes, out of making a face and asking a friend, “You really gonna eat that?” I always felt like if you had to “develop a taste” for something, that really wasn’t something that I wanted to try! I never really liked beer! I still don’t and I won’t drink it! I don’t like green peas, boiled asparagus, boiled okra, cream corn, Scotch, gin, squash, (except for pumpkin pie) anchovies, tofu, or PINEAPPLE ON MY PIZZA!! 2

Chicken Rustler, SASS #26680
Pineapple on pizza is just like a lot of other stuff people love to hate, it's not good enough to go looking for it but it's certainly not bad enough to turn it down. I'd much rather eat something now and then that's just ok than eat the same thing all the time even if it's great.

Budweiser would give me a headache while drinking it. While in Spain I discovered hard ciders. First beer I ever really liked was an Orange Blossom Ale that the Indian Wells Brewery made. In Crete I was introduced to Hefeweizens'. Finally discovered a beer that was enjoyable to drink.
Subdeacon Joe
ALL tastes are acquired tastes. My wife just recently started accepting the bitter of greens other than spinach. She won't actively seek them out, but if served she'll eat them. Same for the earthiness of mushrooms. About 5 years ago she made the mental adjustment to embrace the oligeanous quality of avocado as a butter/creamy element to dishes that enhances them, rather than something green and slimy like spoiled lettuce. There's not much western food that I won't eat. Asparagus, brains, canned peas, canned spinach, not thrilled with triple or pickled pigs feet.

Way back when, when I had a summer job in a slaughter house, there were two days when they put me on brains. First put the skull on the splitter and cut the skull in two. If it fractures so there are fragments everywhere, just send it all to rendering. If the split was clean, pull out the brains and put them in the bucket, someone else will box it. all before the days of Mad Cow disease. when there was no order for brains, everything went to rendering after the tongue and cheek meat were salvaged
