Final Test Completed, Until...

This morning, after much studying, I sat for and passed the exam to earn my Extra class license in amateur radio. My daughter, Rachel, also passed hers. That puts us at the top, licensure-wise, although I still feel very much like a beginner, and I know I have much to learn. Like any other endeavor worth the effort, one never really stops learning or improving.

As for the "until" in the title, there is one more test to pass, to become a volunteer examiner (VE), but I'm being told it is quite easy, and mostly a formality so one can help others into the world of amateur radio.

Congratulations to you and your daughter.

As my local club tells everyone that passes their examination. You now have a license to learn.

Good on you stepping up to also be a VE.

congrats , i hope everything goes well ,

i feel a little about this as i feel about gun ;laws , there should be no restrictions in my mind -- granted my mind is operating in the 1960s in this area or before , both our lack of gun laws and our freedom to the air waves kept us safe and free in the past , both deterred our enemy from thinking about invading us ,

but now our boarders are open , we are being invaded ----------huh , we might need both again ,
