Utah Bob #35998
Just back from a spectacular weekend in Durango. Enjoying this lovely weather on the porch for only the second time this winter/spring with some DonJulio 1942 and an H. Uppman 1944 Special Edition. And a bit of pizza schmeared with an arugula-walnet pesto prepared by my traveling companion Donna, the biologist/college professor/Dance Teacher/violinist/killer cook. Rode the Durango Silverton train dressed appropriately and Donna prepared a splendid Victorian picnic lunch. After the train we visited my local cigar shop and while I was talking to a friend about a flintlock rifle, Donna secretly conspired with Courtney the shop owner and later put some sticks in my luggage, which I didn’t discover until unpacking at home. Had a superb dinner at the Strater Hotel Mahogany Room and then enjoyed an expert ragtime piano player in the Diamond Belle Saloon. Best weekend in a loonnng time. Adolph Vancinghand, SASS #28923
Well and truly done, Bob! A fine trip all around. When we visited Durango last (and caught the DSNGRR) we also did the Strater/Mahogany Grille/Diamond Belle and had a great time!
