I am really having a hard time trying to figure out how I am going to tell my wife that I need to go out and get me an International Woman to celebrate this day so I think I am going to pass this year... THE EVENT originated in the early days of the Soviet Union, that alone is enough to kill it in the USA. I know women who did temporary flower sales and said they sold more than 3000 flower arrangements in one day for this event. in former Soviet countries there is also a Men’s day but it is limited to men in or formerly in uniform, police, fire, military. ukraine changed the Men’s day to a day in August. I remember waking up to a parade outside my window. The beginning of the parade was quite structured and formal.
