On National Pizza Day I have pizza.
On National Hot Dog Day I have hot dogs.
On National Hawaiian Shirt Day I wear Hawaiian (Aloha) shirts.

I am really having a hard time trying to figure out how I am going to tell my wife that I need to go out and get me an International Woman to celebrate this day so I think I am going to pass this year... ;)

Some history offered here.  Note that Halmark and flowers.com have not capitalized on the day in USA.

THE EVENT originated in the early days of the Soviet Union, that alone is enough to kill it in the USA. I know women who did temporary flower sales and said they sold more than 3000 flower arrangements in one day for this event.

in former Soviet countries there is also a Men’s day but it is limited to men in or formerly in uniform, police, fire, military.

ukraine changed the Men’s day to a day in August. I remember waking up to a parade outside my window. The beginning of the parade was quite structured and formal. Maybe ten groups later it was obvious that the wodka was flowing.  ))))

From Wiki:

"After the Socialist Party of America organized a Women's Day in New York City on February 28, 1909, German delegates Clara Zetkin, Käte Duncker and others proposed at the 1910 International Socialist Woman's Conference that "a special Women's Day" be organized annually.[4] After women gained suffrage in Soviet Russia in 1917, March 8 became a national holiday there.[5] The day was then predominantly celebrated by the socialist movement and communist countries until it was adopted by the feminist movement in about 1967. The United Nations began celebrating the day in 1977.[6]

Commemoration of International Women's Day today ranges from being a public holiday in some countries to being largely ignored elsewhere.[7] In some places, it is a day of protest; in others, it is a day that celebrates womanhood.[8] "

If you wish to stage a day of protest against real or perceived discrimination or personal slights, I have no interest.

If, on the other hand, you wish to celebrate the unique gifts and capabilities of women; their intelligence and compassion; their beauty, both external and internal; and do so without belittling or attacking the rest of us, I'm with you.
