Rip Snorter
Yours is prettier, but in this age of electronic record keeping a used, locking, fire resistant filing cabinet can be had cheap and is absolutely great for ammo storage. They are not as difficult as a safe to break into, but will stop the quick burglars 2

Still have not figured out how to squeeze in reloading when i get to that point, but do have a nice gun area. I'll post some pics in a new thread when I get it cleaned up.

At one point I was set up to reload on a folding Black and Decker Workmate. It did the job and I could detach and store the reloading press and fold up the bench. Fortunately I now have plenty of space though I don't shoot as much so load less frequently. 2 1

A dear friend's ammo shelves weren't that thick; they bowed to a shocking degree. Doesn't look like yours will have that problem!

Yup, 3/4 pine glue-up shelves. Was going to edge-glue some other boards as I had half of what was needed. These pre-made were cheaper than the other half would cost. And I did not have to route a glue edge. Then a 1X2 screwed under the back edge of each. Same 1X2 screwed to cabinet sides as supports. Â The entire cabinet is also secured to the wall with angle braces. Earthquakes are rare here but can exceed 6 on the Richter scale. I do not want this cabinet to move or get knocked over, it will be heavy.
