Tex Jones, SASS 2263
Sammy Davis, Jr, Jerry Lewis were the best of the celebrities. Rodd Redwing taught James Garner and others how to use their guns.
J-BAR #18287
The little guy on the far right side watching Maverick is Joel Grey, the dancer from Cabaret and father of Jennifer Grey, from Ferris Buehler and Dirty Dancing. Just in case you are into trivia.
Wapaloosie73
Glenn Ford was the fastest gun in Hollywood. The Cisco Kid is the fastest gun now.

Blackwater 53393
According to Bob Munden and others, Jerry Lewis had the fastest draw of all the Hollywood actors. Sammy Davis Jr. was a regular competitor in sanctioned fast draw competition and he carried his rig and a timer everywhere he went. Glen Ford developed a technique that let him fire three shots on the draw. He would cock the revolver as he drew and fire a shot as he cleared leather, rake the hammer back against his gun belt as he moved the gun forward and fire a second shot then fan the hammer and fire a third shot as he brought the gun to the end of his drawing motion. I saw it demonstrated once. IMPRESSIVE!!!

Utah Bob #35998
I tried fanning once. Once. Apparently there’s a difference between blanks and full house BP loads with a 250 grainer. Big difference.
Abilene Slim SASS 81783
Notice the 7" barrels on Sammy's pistols compared to Garner and Biehn. Scroll to the 1:55 mark on the Rifleman clip.
