Four-Eyed Buck,SASS #14795
I thought it was pretty tacky, myself. It's The National Anthem, not introduction to jazz. Play it straight. Most artist's for some reason have to make it their own, vocalists or instrumentalists
Cowtown Scout, SASS #53540 L
The Dallas Cowboys have had a sax player do the National Anthem but he played it like it should be and did not personalize it like the sax player did tonight. Don't care for the ad lib personalizing of the NA.

Utah Bob #35998
He apparently wanted it to be all about him with the overly long note. Well, it is Seattle.
Cowtown Scout, SASS #53540 L
Yea my brother even commented about that Loooong held last note being ridicules. They are actually playing at Atlanta.

Ahhhh, I think it is Atlanta, Bob. But we do have a lot of musicians on our streets. Quite a few are a celebrity in their own mind. I keep asking myself why we even play the anthem. It could get worse on the scoreboard also. Seahawks got a lot of good press before they left and looks like they read and believed it. Cowtown Scout, SASS #53540 L
Still wondering where this happened... At a football game? Seattle Seahawks playing the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC playoff game. Edited January 15, 2017 by Cowtown Scout, SASS #53540 L

Dantankerous
Jazz is great music. BUT... A Jazz version of the National Anthem is NOT NEEDED. At least, not in the context of this, uh, incident.
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
I still blame Seattle for it. Go ahead, We have had a long day anyway. Now the Seahawks can sit on the big sofa and watch the Super Bowl with the other 30 teams.
Rye Miles #13621
I love some good jazz but this is not the venue for it! It's as bad as the singers that muck it all up!
Subdeacon Joe
If he had just played it through, with only a few flourishes, it wouldn't have been bad.

Blackwater 53393
Good jazz is just that!! This wasn't even good jazz!!! DISGRACEFULL!!
Red Gauntlet , SASS 60619
I liked it, except the note that was held a bit too long. It's not sacred; as long as it's respectful. It was OK in my opinion. The anthem is done hundreds and thousands of times in pretty ordinary fashion.....I do like the sax....
