Linn Keller, SASS 27332, BOLD 103 Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 After I finished laughing and going "Boo hiss," I reached for my pocket calendar. This will make a good one to take to work! Thank you for this!

My daughter and fiancé are getting married this Saturday, 3.14.15. They are both chemical engineers (he's a PhD candidate) and the wedding venue is the Alabama Space and Rocket Center. Yes, two chemical engineers are getting married on Pi Day under the Saturn V rocket! The only thing that could make it nerdier would be for Bill Nye or Neil DeGrasse Tyson to show up, but they both declined their invitations.
Aunt Jen Posted March 9, 2015 Author Posted March 9, 2015 Wonderful. I'm something of a nerd. And Painless REALLY was. All that is sooooo interesting and colorful. Fun. Sounds like a great ceremony.
Noz Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Yeah, but if you're a real geek you get two chances to celebrate. once at 3.14.15 at 9:26:53 in the a.m., and again in the p.m. Only took me until today to figure out the extra digits.
Paden Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 To get pi on a basic calculator 113355. Divide the last three by the first three 355/113 = 3.14159... Paden
Wolfgang, SASS #53480 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 3.141592653589 . . . if i remember correct . . . but not really accurate unless you take it to at least 36 decimal places. Totally useless information that i have often used to amaze people with . . .
Wolfgang, SASS #53480 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 International Pi day I prefer Pie Day When does that occur ?

That one parted my hair when it went over my head. ( not the Pi part , the 9:26:53.) Rex , an un-geek.
