  7. i rather like that trinity but i knew what he meant , we are approaching the anniversary again of both the results of these tests , ive always had mixed emotions on this , we saved a lot of american lives in the impending invasion , we took a lot o innocent lives in two entire communities, , we lost a lot of lives in its development , and the entire population of the globe is in peral if anyone ever unleashes whats here now - and that hasn't factored in what is currently in development in places we dont want having these , it brought my father home safe - it left from the island agecent to where he was , a contingent of the bomb group he was in , i would not be here had this not happened , yet , we all have to give pause and wonder at what we have created and destroyed , my father was always thankful at the decision to use it but sad for what happened - he knew in his heart the emporor would never have agreed to stop the war if it had not happened - after all it took two to convince him , then there is that aftermath of the indiana that delivered them , i married into a naval family - this was a tragedy beyond belief all based around delivery of these bombs , sunk under radio silence and complete secrecy after delivering them to tinian , this loss was also a tragedy of unforgivable proportion , ive said all this as a 1st teir decendant with more knowledge of both saipan/tinian and the indiana - i met and spent a lot of time with a survivor , as well as 1st and 2nd tier knowledge of japan having grown up with a couple war brides from the island one an adopted aunt and a wife that was raised there , sometimes government mindsets put us in places none of us want to be ,

  14. That would suck, to put it mildly. Brass shotshells are actually what I started with, because they can be loaded without a press. With those loads, I guess due to the inherent strength of the brass hull, AND the fact that there is no crimp, but a glued in over shot card, it was a LOT more like regular metallic cartridge loading, albeit with black powder, not smokeless, (even though there are a few documented safe loads with Red Dot), and I have had a lot of fun playing around with them. @John Kloehr, nothing wrong with a 9mm, I carry one daily. Nothing wrong with a 9mm 1911, but if Col Cooper catches you with one he'll laugh. I had a Springfield 1911A1 decades ago, but it wasn't a very reliable pistol. Things have come a long ways since then, and I can afford basic gunsmithing if need be. And please feel free to have fun with the post - I think 90% of what I do here is comic relief.
  15. "Somebody's poisoned the waterhole!" Woody.
  16. MY goodness. I last saw Mike about 2 years ago and he certainly had lost a lot of weight to the cancer but had a wonderful spirit. He will be missed.
  17. Thinking the same thing....Plus still have to pay sir tax.... Texas Lizard
  18. Don't think we can enter here in the land of background checks for ammo and no home delivery.
  19. A murder of crows, a flock of chickens, a herd of horses, and a cuddle of puppies. Thanks, Mom. I had forgotten that.
  20. It is rumored, that Japan was working on a device themselves and it was set off in what is now North Korea. The story is that the device was a "Fizzle" possibly due to Tritium contamination of the core. If the suspected site could site could be visited and samples taken, it is claimed the question could be resolved. Kinda makes me shiver.
  21. I use a close ADI equivalent - 2205. Much better for longer range than TB. In rifle I just use TB for my 45/70 trapdoor for the Pat Garret shoots where its close range (50-75M) and the rounds have to be under 1000FPS.
  22. Now that there are enough serious answers. Trail Boss!
