The way DC works?

If you have 6 1.5 volt 2 amp batteries, and you link them together, all the positive together - PPPPPP - and all the negatives together - NNNNNN - you end up with a 9 volt 2 amp battery. Correct?

But if you link them together positive to negative - PN, PN, PN, PN, PN - you end up with a one and a half volt 12 amp battery. Correct?

No, after reading what I wrote I believe I have it totally backwards. Positive to negative, positive to negative, positive to negative would end up adding them all together and I would end up with a 9-volt battery while all the positives and all the negatives I would keep the same voltage but I would increase the amperage.

If you tear apart a 9V battery, you’ll see that it’s just a stack of 6 small batteries in Series. The key fob battery is similar.

The last time I disassembled a 9V battery I got my butt tanned. I guess I shouldn’t have done it on the dining room table that was covered with my mom’s favorite pretty tablecloth.
