Yul Lose
2 months or so ago someone drove up to a liquor store right up the street from me at 2:00 in the morning and ripped the security bars and doors off and made off with a safe and a bunch of expensive scotch and other liquor. The perps were well covered and the vehicle had the license plates removed, video wasn’t much help.
Cypress Sun
It's happened quite a few times locally over the years, probably 3 or 4 times a year. In some of the cases, video from the weeks prior to the theft showed at least one of the suspects casing the gun store. Several of the stores had their video recorders stolen also, so there was no video. Some stores still have on-site recording (bad) and some have switched to off-site recording (good).
Pat Riot
In the 80’s and 90’s guys would pull up in front of a convenience store with a pickup truck. One guy would jump out pulling a steel rope cable with a loop at the end. He would drag the cable into the store and loop it around the ATM machine, run back out and jump into the truck and the driver would punch it thus ripping the ATM machine loose from it’s anchors and out through the front of the store and dragged down the road for their getaway. In New Mexico in the late 80’s ATMs would be installed in small block buildings for rural access. There was a team of guys that would wrap the building with heavy cables and drive off destroying the building and the cable loop would lasso the 2 ATMs and away they’d go. During the Rodney King riots in LA people were driving trucks and cars into store fronts to loot them. This crap has been around for years. A Flippant Note: the robbers of the Fowler’s Gun Room were probably sick of being price gouged…

I shopped at Fowler's a few times when I lived in Cali, as well as their former sister store, The Stockade, just off Beach Blvd. My first set of holsters was hand made just down the road from there. Unfortunately, that's the way things are going right now.

Period .

DeaconKC
We have 4" steel pipes filled with concrete protecting the store walls and entrances. No normal vehicle could crash through unless it was going Warp Speed.

Uh-huh, yes the entire store. You’re not gonna believe this but there were reports of a large UFO in the vicinity and a couple of drunks swear the store got…well, they said it looked like it got Beamed Up!…Hello…Hellllloooo…are you there?” ‘Click’
paradiddle
Damn - Fowlers!!!! I just bought a rifle from them. They've never had the best prices (nor the Stockade) but they've always had a great selection of stuff. In fact they are one of the few local stores that carry Taylor, Ubertis, etc. They have all their safes up against that front wall as well - I hope the scumbags didn't get much and got caught.

Warden Callaway
We stopped at a gunshop that had just been hit. Lone thief entered through the back door somehow and busted into a security case like used in julery stores and stole all the "gangster" handguns he could pack into a duffel bag and back out in 3 minutes. They had video of him coming out of a trailer park behind the store and all around inside the store. The case was made of bullet proof glass and was supposed to be inpenrentable. He knew how to break into it and how long he had to get in and back out. We shop at one place that have 7,000 guns on display. Owner said they have had several robbery attempts in the night. But cops were there within minutes and foiled the attempt.
Rye Miles #13621
There’s been a few robberies to gun shops around here. The ones that were broken into now have concrete barriers in front of their stores. They also have bars on the windows.

All "scary" long guns are in steel display cages.
Pat Riot
Notice we are all talking about robberies and not apprehensions? Since the defunding horse sh** and Covid I think law enforcement isn’t exactly busting their butts to solve crimes.
