Cold Lake Kid, SASS # 51474 Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 Well, that was something I had never heard of let alone seen. A pard brought it over and we watched it together: "Mackintosh and T.J.", a more modern type cowboy movie, shot on the 6666 Ranch in the mid '70's. I really enjoyed it. Thanks Palomino Pal. .
Alpo Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 That's interesting. I'm pretty sure that Roy Rogers first movie, he's an outlaw. And then in his last movie he's suspected of being a murderer. I guess that's what they mean by what goes around comes around.
Widder, SASS #59054 Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 If my memory serves me correctly, the 6666 Ranch is featured during a couple episodes of the TV series..... Yellowstone. Interesting. ..........Widder
Mossy Horn Gent Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 Excellent modern western. The 6666 is one of the largest ranches in Texas and has a long history.
watab kid Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 i remember roy and dale as a mainstay of my childhood but as much TV as movies , but there were so many others as well , gene autry , lone ranger & tonto , to name a couple , everyday fare

Alpo Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 I read somewhere that while Nellybelle was Pat's mode of transport in the TV show, she actually belonged to Roy.
Rye Miles #13621 Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 I had a 45 record of Davy Crockett and the flip side was Nellybelle! I always thought that was weird. Wish I still had that record.!!
Tell Sackett SASS 18436 Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 I remember seeing McIntosh & TJ at a theater!!
Bailey Creek,5759 Posted February 27, 2024 Posted February 27, 2024 Dusty Rogers said that his Dad drove an old Jeep all the time.
Matthew Duncan Posted February 27, 2024 Posted February 27, 2024 As a kid mom wouldn't allow me to watch Roy Rogers. Too violent. Imagine a black and white TV show with any special effects (compared to today) being considered violent. Roy Rogers was on after Romper Room and a few times mom wouldn't get the TV turned off in time. Nellie Belle is where I got my lust for a Jeep. Took me 65 years but I final got one, named it Mo (without a "E").
Alpo Posted February 27, 2024 Posted February 27, 2024 Matthew, may I ask a dumb question? Why did you spell it like that? You should either spell it with Latin letters, or you should spell it with Greek letters. But using the Latin L in molon and the Greek lambda in labe is puzzling. Μολὼν λαβέ

I found and bought it on Amazon about 6 months ago in DVD, it was my first time viewing it and I really enjoyed it.

Μολὼν λαβέ Because that was closest spelling I could find without ordering custom.
