Charlie Harley, #14153 Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 May he and his family be at peace.
Trailrider #896 Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 Fully vaccinated, but suffering from multiple-myeloma a blood cancer that depresses the immune system. (My uncle died of the same malady, albeit many years prior to the pandemic. Colin Powell was not only a warrior (wounded in Viet Nam), but a true statesman. RIP, sir. | | |
Rye Miles #13621 Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 He was also fighting a form of cancer as Trailrider said, I doubt it was Covid.
Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967 Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 I read his autobiography many years ago - a good read; I'd recommend it. (The man's hobby was tinkering with old Volvo automobiles!) I later had the opportunity to hear him speak at an event and thoroughly enjoyed it. The man had a presence! Extremely bright, a set of values most of us would largely agree with, and a good sense of humor. RIP, General. And thank you for being here when you were.

Subdeacon Joe Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 A gentleman in the true sense of the word. Capable of great violence, but restrained in using it. A scholar. diplomat, and statesman.
