Alpo
Brits call it candy floss. Back in the seventies Penthouse magazine had a comic strip in it every month. Oh Wicked Wanda. And Wanda had a girlfriend. Cute little blonde with long legs and short skirts. Named Candy Floss. That name puzzled me long after the comic quit running. Until I found out that it was cotton candy. She did look very sweet. 3

Alpo
Most of the pictures I could find online needed quite a bit of cropping, but here's Candy Floss. 1

Buckshot Bear
I remember so many disabled kids (and adults) who had been affected by polio (how quickly have we forgotten about polio) truly hard to believe that these things were once in every supermarket and on every chemist shop and corner shop counter. I know we sometimes pine for the old days, but some things are better rightfully gone. Rip Snorter
I can recall clearly for a short period, not going to the public swimming pools, or to big events. No recollection of school or work being interfered with. Dad was a Doc and I got the Salk first and then the Sabin vaccine, and everything was soon back to normal, ex the poor souls who survived in iron lungs. As an adult, working for an institution involved with health, I was able to visit the Salk Institute in California. Magnificent and state of the art facility. I know they had other achievements, but none to equal the first. 3

Alpo
Is this another example of "Australians spell funny"? "Did ya car brake down" The word is break - it means "is no longer working". It's generally a verb. Brake, on the other hand, is generally a noun, referring to something that slows you down. Your lawn mower can break - it no longer works. You can take a coffee break - you are not working. A dog runs out in front of your car and you step on the brake. It slows you down. Do y'all not have those two separate and distinct words that sound the same?

BUT ..... we don't wear sox, and our bathrooms actually contain a bathtub, or at least a shower stall and some times not a toilet, which most likey would be in it's own little room so that one could "go" whilst someone else could brush their teeth. 2

As my teachers were fond of saying to miscreants "The world needs ditch diggers". I have had some of that oil for donks, never used it for any car but it's great for lubricating my milling machine, metal lathe and nice and thick for oiling the lathe bed ways.
