Boys are going to do a small pig on the rotisserie and the girls are inside in the a/c doing salads and making a couple of pavlovas and the grandkids are swimming, think there will be 15-20 coming for a late lunch.....gonna' be a long hot day.

11.30 am Lake is pumping with holiday makers enjoying the Aussie Day public holiday, flying the flag and putting out some good Aussie tunes....... school goes back next week and then we have around 11 months (besides Easter hols) of quiet local time.

Not to be grim, but what about those Crocs?  You have both fresh and saltwater varieties.  I wouldn't be dipping my toes, and if kids of mine were, be a couple of us standing by with heavy rifles.

The kids are safe. Australian wildlife only attacks foreign tourists. Not the natives.

Kindly define very, very hot. To me it's in excess of 115F. I reckon that's about 46C.

I had to google Pavlovas, but they look delicious!

People around the world celebrate their holidays differently, but the same.

We all like good food, good drink, and fun times. And guns, too!

It's the damned politicians that create divisions between us.

Thanks, BB, for the photos.

They could have been taken up here, down there, or most anywhere that folks are having fun!

Hottest I've felt where I live is 48°C that was once only and I hope it stays that way.

A hot uncomfortable day which is very common and can happen through December January February and even March is 35°C to 45°C with the humidity 95%+ our UV factors in here as well (not sure what the UV index is in the US) but ours is extreme in Summer, the sun has a bite to it. Unfortunately for us Australia has the highest Melanoma rates in the world.....sun cancer is a big deal here in Oz I know a lot of folks who have gone that way, we have doctors running full time skin clinics in just about every town in Australia.

I was just looking at that November 20 - Frothy Dunny.

That the toilet after somebody's just got through peeing in it, and the surface is all covered with air bubbles?

I don't think I like that.
