Trigger Mike Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 saw one in town today. It was 1600. I held it and the butt seemed squared and rubbed right on the pinched nerve in the web of my thumb. I let it go back to the shelf. It was pretty though.
Utah Bob #35998 Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Look at it this way. You just saved 1600 smackers.
Buckshot Bob Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Give it a year the newness will wear off , hopefully the price will come down . It’s hard to pony that much up when you can get a S&W performance center gun for a few hundred less . But if you gotta have a Python ya gotta have it
Charlie Harley, #14153 Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 They are pretty. No denying. A 6” Python in the case at Miami Valley Shooting Grounds was the first gun lust I ever felt. And you never forget your first. ❤️
Hashknife Cowboy Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Saw and handled a 4 inch recently...it was sold...it was very nice...it went from "want" to "need."
Texas Lizard Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Bought mine in '76...Still have it....And paid a bunch less for it.... Texas Lizard
Rye Miles #13621 Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 My 1993 Python, I think I need a new one to compare!!
Pat Riot Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 I have yet to see a new Python. Perhaps that’s a good thing. I got my sights set on 2 Ruger Redhawks. Hmmm...for the $1600 they want for a Python I can possibly get both Rugers...now I just need $1600 for the Python to buy the Rugers.
Matthew Duncan Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 A lot of money for a pretty $500 revolver.
LawMan Mark, SASS #57095L Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 I've handled three that were pre sold when they came in to the LGS. Mine is pre paid for, and I'm waiting for delivery. I chose a 4.25" one.
Trigger Mike Posted August 6, 2020 Author Posted August 6, 2020 What is the recoil on the new python like?

What she don’t know won’t hurt me , and if that doesn’t work out I can always go with it’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission
DeaconKC Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Interesting gun. I had to sell my 4" Python when I got married 30+ years ago to pay off some bills. Could this new one join the herd?
Happy Jack, SASS #20451 Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 I have 3 from the early 60's. NOT for sale.
