Jack Wilson (Jack Palance) carries two Single Action Army Civilian Model revolvers with deep blue finish and faux mother-of-pearl grips. Like with Shane's revolver, one of Wilson's guns was replaced with a Colt Police Positive revolver in the climactic scene.

my guess was gonna be celluloid plastic

wonder if that be the same ?

They don’t look like fake MOP but seeing as how it was made in 1953 materials would have been different than today. Don’t know.

They're not Franzite, LOL. Those grips were pretty common back when. I run across them from time to time. Plastic, they tend to be brittle now. The coloring was a redish-brown creamy white and I have no idea what they're supposed to "replicate" but they are cool !!!

As many times as I have seen "Shane" , I never noticed those grips. Now it will bug me till I see it again....... Maybe:P. I could forget if it is very long till the next time I get the chance for a viewing.

That reminds me , whatever happened to Kid Shane?  Haven't seen him on the wire in two or three years.
