Nice looking horse! :D

Yeah. He wasn't too bright though. Kinda like the rider. ;)

He cleaned up well for parades.

Bob, at that time-frame, were officer's uniform insignia shown by button pattern?

The cuff buttons on the jacket indicated officer and nco ranks. Shoulder straps came in the 40s.

How did you talk Burt Reynolds into riding your horse?

Actually he lived in Jupiter. About 10 minutes down the road. And they filmed some of Smokey and the Bandit II not far from where the pic was taken.

But he didn't need a double. ;)

You still riding, UB ?

Nope. I am horse poor and my riding is on a 4 wheeler these days.

Utah, at 73 years of age I have just started doing some histoical drama for the Bullock Texas State History Museum. The "boss lady" for the volunteers is a former drama and theater professor, so she is trying to teach old dogs ..... well ... you know. The auto-biographical performance that I am doing now is posing as Jess Evans, an early Texas cattle baron who got rich with 25 years of cattle drives. I play him in 1915, when he was 73, so that part is easy to portray. The primary goal is to teach all about the cattle drives, and 25 years of prosperity, for those that stayed with it. I have never been good at acting, but this is fun. Short presentations: only 10 to 15 minutes ... absolutely fully dressed in my cowboy stuff.
