Alpo
Serious question? Okay. The wool threads are dyed before they are woven into cloth. The color of the cloth is then "dyed in the wool", instead of plain white cloth being woven and then printed with a pattern. So a "dyed in the wool supporter" would be someone that has been a supporter since you got started, and not one that "jumped on the bandwagon" at the end - a "Johnny-come-lately". Alpo
Men's clothing buttons left over right so a right-handed person can get his hand under his coat to pull his sword. Got no idea why women's go the other way. I've heard it has to do with it's easier for the lady's maid to button or unbutton her mistress, and there might be something to that, but I bet that, throughout history, there were more women dressing themselves than there were that had maids.
