I was thinking 1/4" of snow. Sure seemed like more than that. Then I remembered I was thinking about Smoke in the Valley. EOT was cold, drizzly, muddy and if I recall correctly one person got helicoptered out with a broken leg.
-
I was thinking maybe a Stevens T-bolt , that had been whacked on both ends CB

Looks like a Marlin m65 cut down. Trigger guard looks same. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1042680998 That square block thing on the side looks like a belt clip off a tape measure. -

And sleeted and rained and mud. Dried the mud up pretty quick. First time meeting and/or shooting with Half-a-Hand Henri, Dingo Dave & Sixgun Sallie, Charlie Bowdrie, Will Reilly, Constable Nelson, Cerveza Slim, Sawyer, Rick-O-Shea, Querita Kate... and that's all I can remember tight now.

Question for Frontiersman
Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971 replied to Sgt. Hochbauer, SASS #64409's topic in SASS Wire
When I work the unloading table at a Plainsman match I keep a small screwdriver handy for shooters to pull off spent caps. They always use it. I hate to see someone's fingertip sliced by a sharp, spent cap. -

I remember seeing water dishes for dogs froze over. Ice had to be broken before the dogs could drink. I stayed at home and commuted to the match. It was just another late winter match at Founders Ranch. None of the ladies wore their soiled dove costumes.
