Randy Saint Eagle, SASS # 64903 Posted March 21 Posted March 21 I purchased some Ruger struts from Fireball and did all our communication on PM then I received these emails from someone claiming to be Fireball. I didn't think much about the first one since I had already mailed a check but then I kept getting more. I contacted Fireball to verify it wasn't his email. The scammers are getting pretty sharp as the email address showed up as from Fireball and it was started with fb. here's the series of emails except for my last reply which wouldn't be appropriate on a public forum! Before I get all the replies about removing my email from anything available, I can't. I'm one of the contacts for the Wartrace Regulators as well at the TG, Match Director for the Work Shirkers Matches and an RO Instructor so my email has to be available. Just wanted to let everyone know if you get an email about anything from these addresses Fire Ball <fb227832@gmail.com> PayPal email :d66250587@gmail.com it is not Fireball! Thanks Randy On 03/20/2025 8:19 PM CDT Fire Ball <fb227832@gmail.com> wrote: Hi pard. Still waiting on you to get back to me on how you'll like to proceed with your payment. Scarlett Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Wow! @Fireball #7709 Life wouldn’t scam anyone. I would also imagine that he doesn’t use PayPal, Zelle or others like them because they will NOT support/allow firearms parts, projectiles, powder, ammunition sales and, if these processors have access to your bank account, PayPal for one, can go BACK SIX MONTHS and ding you for disallowed payments. I know because we had PayPal before cowboy action and tried to cancel the whole account. PP would not until 6 months had passed. Glad @Randy Saint Eagle, SASS # 64903 didn’t take the bait! You and Fireball are two treasures in this game! Hugs! Scarlett PS: Square, Stripe, Zelle, PayPal, GoDaddy Payments DO NOT ALLOW payments for the kinds of things we all buy. They actively work against our gun rights. If Larry Potterfield won’t accept it, it ain’t no good! 😉 2 Quote
Uriah, SASS # 53822 Posted March 21 Posted March 21 They’re going after random parts! The main objective is to shut this site down? Uriah 1 Quote

Garrison Joe, SASS #60708 Posted March 21 Posted March 21 ALWAYS run away from any request to use a "no refunds" payment method. Zelle, Bank Transfers and PP Friends and Family (I call them Fiends) all are giant flags that someone is fishing for your money! Also, any request for gift cards! GJ 4 Quote
Abilene, SASS # 27489 Posted March 21 Posted March 21 I have used PayPal friends and family for almost every purchase on the Wire classifieds. But these are known SASS folk. 2 Quote

Cholla Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Our bank just added Zelle but they warn to only use it on face to face and trusted people. Quote

This was my second purchase from Fireball and everything is always as he says! Thanks Randy 3 1 Quote
Randy Saint Eagle, SASS # 64903 Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 I was just amazed that they went to the trouble of getting a Gmail account starting with fb to steal $45. Randy Quote
John Kloehr Posted March 21 Posted March 21 There have been a few times I have switched to email with some sellers, but I am getting less likely to do so in the future. May still do so for some exchange of information, but not for any real contact info, not for addresses, not for shipping or payment info. That is exclusively through PM in the future. Why would I even use email with a seller at all? One reason is to get some additional picture of an item as PMs do not allow pictures )and there are some very good reasons for this not related to this thread). And this only after some comfort the seller is real. But then back to PM for the actual business at hand (payment, addresses, tracking info, real names). Quote
watab kid Posted March 22 Posted March 22 im really sorry to hear folks here are getting scammed Quote
